Dragon Valley is an engaging game for the whole family for players age 6 and up. The goal of the game is to return the dragon younglings to their valley before the nasty wizard gets back to his tower and catches them playing fireball near his home. To help the baby dragons, two players each take a wand and use their magic to transport them back to the Dragon Valley.
What makes Dragon Valley special?
Dragon Valley is a game that connects generations. Discover the child in you and discover the magic in your child. Test your dexterity, communication and cooperative skills in this delightful family game!
- Dragon Valley is cooperative. Players are all working together to achieve victory.
- Dragon Valley has tactile and dexterity components that keep players engaged.
- Dragon Valley is a family game in which young players can be as good or better than adults.
- Dragon Valley encourages and rewards communication as the players move the younglings back to their valley.
- Dragon Valley has simple rules that allow players to start the game in moments.
- Dragon Valley has very high replayability. Two sets of different diameter wands, challenge cards (try helping the younglings with your eyes closed!), and optional distances make Dragon Valley never ending fun for new and experienced players.
- Dragon Valley is an environmentally friendly production. All products are made in Europe and all our paper, cardboard and wooden components, come from ecologically sustainable sources.
The object of Dragon Valley is to transport all of the dragon younglings from the mage's tower back to their homes in Dragon Valley. Players work together to achieve this goal.
At the beginning of the game, players are given a set of dragon cards (pre-determined depending on the number of players) that identify which two players will participate in helping the younglings fly back to the valley.
To start the game, the white die is rolled. Depending on the result, players will try and fly the youngling back to dragon valley (a dragon result) , try and fly the youngling back to dragon valley WITH a lava rock in tow (a dragon and lava rock result), the mage (Razandar) may move closer to his tower (a mage result), or the mage (Razandar) may move back one one space from his tower (a sun result).
To transport the youngling two players each take a magic wand. By working carefully, the players transport the youngling between the two wands to its location in Dragon Valley. The magic will succeed only if the young dragon is landed safely in the valley (do not drop the little ones!!!!). All of you will share victory if you manage to return all dragon younglings to the dragon valley before that crabby magician Razandar arrives at his tower. If he gets to his tower while there are still some dragon younglings there, you have jointly lost the game.
There are 2 sets of wands that come with the game. The Master wands are 8mm in diameter. The second set of wands (Apprentice level) have a larger diameter (12mm). These Apprentice wands make it easier to levitate the younglings back to Dragon Valley. Now, whether it is the adults or the young ones using the Apprentice wands is anyone's guess!
We are delighted to offer one of our first family games as a funding reward for backers of Dragon Valley. Enuk is a tile based game that is a mixture of memory and push-your-luck. Players turn over animal tiles until they want to quit or one of the animals is scared and flees: the herring flee from the salmon, salmon flees from the seal, the seal flees from the polar bear and the polar bear flees from the Eskimo. How many tiles dare you turn over?
If we reach the $20,000 level, we will include an additional set of wands with a diameter of 10mm to give the experienced apprentices an additional challenge when they are ready!
If you back the game here on Kickstarter, you'll get a copy of the Dragon Valley and the funding reward Enuk in advance of your region's release date!

Risks and challenges
Dragon Valley is the first family game we have presented on Kickstarter. We are excited to see what the response is to this genre of game on Kickstarter. The game has been presented in prototype form at several shows and the response has been very strong, so we are excited to see if we were able to capture the magic of the game with our video and description.
From our previous projects what remains to be shipped is the new expansion characters for Dark, Darker, Darkest and that looks to be a May/June release. Fresco Big Box will be finished in two weeks (we are about to send surveys) and Tortuga is on track for a May release. Greed is scheduled for June and Kingdom Builder is scheduled for August.
Due to shipping time (ocean transit, customs, rail/truck, and final delivery), our release policy for Kickstarter releases is that games will be released in the EU when they are available. North America will be 6-8 weeks after that and for backers everywhere else it will be 8-10 weeks from the EU launch.
