The goal is to live your life, Quirler will just make your life more interesting. We want to develop a video game like no other. We want to make your life a game. Quirler is a player-sustained, quest based, live gaming environment with a reward system. Quirler's players will be rewarded for living their lives and will be challenged to take on new experiences. From participating in Quirler sponsored events, to rewarding players for going to a Zombie Walk, Quirler will make your life more interesting. Quirler will give you bragging rights for doing everything that you have always wanted and you can win random loot for having more fun. Everyone has hobbies and things they have always wanted to try, and we want to reward you for these activities.

Players will log onto the Quirler gaming platform and create their own character. From your character profile, you can message other players, chat, and follow their progress. Once a player's character profile is complete, the real fun begins. Quirler is a quest hub for your everyday life, and you will be rewarded for completing our quests. Quirler's quest list splits into a number of different categories.
With Quirler, people can do the things they love, try new activities, and make new friends along the way. A quest can be as simple as going to school or work, attending a Quirler event, or mastering the dance from the Thriller video. There will be single quests and complicated quest chains for players to complete. Once you have accepted a quest, you take a picture, or video, of yourself completing the quest. Players include their player name within the picture or video. Completed quests will be submitted for moderation while other Quirler players will moderate your quest submission.
Moderating quests will allow players to gain experience points and witness the antics of other Quirlers. With our level system, and other rewards, you will be able to watch your character grow as you complete Quirler quests. If a quest submission is deemed successful by its moderators, players will be rewarded. Players will always receive two things when a quest is completed: 1) Experience points will be added to your character profile and 2) Players will receive loot—a random chance to receive an experience multiplier, a title for your profile, a button, a sticker, a t-shirt, or other stuff. Upon completion of a related series of quests (a quest chain) a user will receive a badge, or title to post to their profile that can be viewed by other Quirlers.
Quirler needs funding to help us launch the game to its players. First, we need to purchase rewards to give to our players. We believe that one of the most important aspects of our game will be the ability to give real life rewards to people for completing quests. Without Kickstarter funds, our ability to provide loot to our players will be substantially limited, if possible at all.
Second, the most important part of our project is to find players. For this reason, a portion of the Kickstarter funds will be used to release the project at PAX East 2013. PAX is a video game convention, sponsored by the Penny Arcade Expo. It is known as being a convention that makes the player the focus, rather than the company. Quirler believes that the player is the most important part of its product and we like that PAX has the same attitude. We have been fans of the convention since its conception, and would love to show our support by launching our project at the next show. With the funds from Kickstarter we could culminate our hard work, at PAX, and officially launch our project to the gaming community.
To attend PAX we will need Kickstarter funds for two reasons. First, we will need money to pay for a booth at the convention. Second, the funds will be used to buy any appropriate swag to hand out during the convention. Last year, PAX East was attended by 69,500 people, we are hoping to sign up a third of these convention goers. This would add a significant amount of player base to the game and make the game more enjoyable for all.
Here is how we intend to use the money:
Hardware: We need a major upgrade to our hardware to support the launch of the project. To this end, we plan on spending around $3,000 of our budget on hardware. Namely, more SPACE. Since quests are completed with pictures AND video, these things take up a lot of hard drive space.
Rewards: This is where a bulk of our funds will go. We plan to spend around $8,000 on rewards. These rewards will include items such as t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and custom usb sticks. If you guys would like a better itemization of what rewards we are planning to offer, just let us know and we will update!
Pax East: This will signal the release of the project, and help the project reach the numbers needed to make it fun for everyone to play. To this end, we plan to spend the remaining amount getting a booth, and equipping it for Pax. As of now, we are budgeting around $3,000 for this.

We are three friends that have been passionate about video games ever since we were old enough to understand what the power button did on our Nintendo. This passion has caused us to make video games an important aspect of our lives. Although only two of us can claim that we are actually brothers, through our many years of friendship, this distinction no longer matters. Throughout the years, we have worked a plethora of jobs together, most of them including the pizza business. As life progressed, we have moved on to new opportunities and coming together to work on this project is a natural extension of our long standing friendship. The ability to work together again is an exciting prospect for the three of us.
There are many reasons that we made Quirler, but I will try to distill it down to the important ones. First off, I greatly believe that variety is the spice of life. We never know what we are missing until we try new things. And I believe that this will be a great platform to give people the motivation to go out and experience their lives. Secondly, we feel like it is bringing an essential part of what we greatly enjoy doing in our free time, into the rest of our lives. We want to make our player's lives as enjoyable as possible, and that is why we made this product. You never know what small thing will motivate a person to achieve greatness, and we want to be that motivation.
