Thank you for being #YogaDogBelievers!
The idea of Yoga Dog™ originated from our teams desire to create an educational and entertaining TV show that will help make the world a better place. We want to GIVE Yoga Dog™ episodes to every school in the country and every US military base in the world! First, we need to create a pilot episode. Together - we will make that happen! This is YOUR CHANCE to be part of creating a show that you want your kids, nieces, nephews, students, grandchildren, and loved ones to enjoy!
About the Show
Yoga Dog™ melds entertainment and fitness into a fun and engaging activity that kids love and parents trust. Yoga Dog is for ALL children.
One of our goals is to make programs that children on the spectrum and/or differently-abled will enjoy. We expect kids with special physical, mental, and emotional needs to find a best friend in Yoga Dog.
Yoga Dog™ has a unique visual style that incorporates health and wellness with yoga. Each adventure features a mix of animated and live action characters. Using simple shapes and bright colors, they guide Yoga Dog in learning how to work out problems, find ways to control emotions, solve puzzling riddles, or help a friend in need.
Yoga Dog and his friends welcome viewers of all ages to join them on each adventure encouraging inclusion, self-awareness, nutrition and hydration. Each episode is a thematic journey comprised of original songs, silly humor, and relatable story lines giving children and their parents yoga tools - breathing, relaxation, and physical activity - that they can use in real life.
What is an Episode Like?
Each season of Yoga Dog™ will consist of 18 episodes, each with a 22-minute run time which can be easily adapted for broadcast television. Yoga Dog™ features a combination of live action, costumed actors and animated characters who interact with practical (produced physically) and special effect props. Action takes place in both stage and virtual (animated) environments.
Each episode begins in the family “house”. From Yoga Dog’s perspective, viewers see an enormous door where his human family exits each day. POV (point of view) is ground level so we never see more than 3-4 feet off the ground. As each pair of legs/feet leave, the family member gives a cheerful “Bye Yoga Dog!” then a “Have a great day Yoga Dog” and finally Mom (wearing yoga pants and flip-flops) turns and says “You be a good boy buddy, I’ll be back in a little bit”.
As the door closes, we finally see more than just the tip of Yoga Dogs’s nose, he turns and looks right into the lens and enthusiastically says “Hi Friends! Are you ready to have a great day?” and then he sets up the theme for his adventure.
From this point on, Yoga Dog talks to the viewers directly and encourages them to do what he’s doing. Yoga Dog’s imagination is limitless in terms of where he can go, who he can meet and what he can accomplish. He also interacts with the other characters, who all have distinct personalities, those characters can only talk to Yoga Dog - not the viewers. Remember, this is Yoga Dog’s imagination so he’s the only one who knows the viewers are there. He faithfully guides the viewers through each adventure as companion and “best friend”.
Once the premise for the episode has been established, Yoga Dog, with the help of his friends, encounters several situations along the way that teach or give him the tools to discover how to overcome the challenge or accomplish the objective for that episode. These lessons center on one or more yoga activities for Yoga Dog (and the audience) to perform in order to learn ways to achieve their goal or overcome the obstacle.
After several of these encounters, Yoga Dog is able to resolve the situation or challenge and celebrates with the friends he met along the way. As the show draws to a close, he recalls the lesson learned by summarizing the adventures they had that episode. The show concludes with a closing song celebrating what they accomplished and winds down to a calming close intended to leave the audience member happy and relaxed.
As Yoga Dog settles into his dog bed after his big adventure, his nose faces the door as he calmly awaits his family's arrival. Keys rattle and the enormous door to the family home begins to open. We hear Mom’s delightful, friendly voice say “Yoga Dog, Sassy, Fish...I’m home!”. All is safe and good in Yoga Dogs world, reinforcing for children a message of peace and security.
We have also assembled an impressive Advisory Board of children's health and wellness experts to ensure that Yoga Dog is created in the best interest of ALL children. This includes Pediatricians, Occupational Therapists, Child Psychologists, Teachers, Yoga Experts, Anti-Bullying Advocates, and Business Leaders.

Risks and challenges
Our team has been in production for over 20-years, creating and delivering media for some of the best known brands in the world. It's not our first rodeo. In fact, our team has been preparing - for decades - to produce our own children's entertainment show. We have a solid pre-production, production, and post-production plan in place to ensure that, once funded, we can get right to work producing the first high quality episode of Yoga Dog for you!
It takes a lot of money to see a great show concept through to reality. That means finding people with the means to fund us who believe in our mission as much as we do. It will take a significant investment to “do this right”. That's why we're here! We hope you believe in Yoga Dog as much as we do!
We also face the challenge of competitors introducing similar products before, or soon thereafter, we introduce Yoga Dog. Right now, nothing like Yoga Dog exists. However, competitors may be able to offer their products at lower prices using teams of animators already in place for other shows, or contract to low-wage “animation factories” abroad. It’s imperative that we move quickly and get the first episode made!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Great question and one we've asked ourselves for over 2 years now. The truth is, to "do this right" means we need to do a tremendous amount of work to ensure we are creating a trusted, entertaining, sustainable brand. We don't want to cut corners and we don't want to just make a couple of episodes. We want to make dozens of seasons of Yoga Dog and create them in a way that are ready for distribution, starting with Episode 1. Making Episode 1, with the vision for future Yoga Dogs, is one of the most important things we can do.
That means creating, what we call in the biz, "character bibles" so we understand how these characters came to be and how they will develop over time. All of this takes several weeks of concentrated effort by our story team.
That also means dropping all of their paid-client work and I just can't ask our team to do that again. So many have chipped in to help get us this far. We are all working professionals and every person brings necessary skills to the team. Everyone deserves to be paid for their work. This is a fraction of the over-all costs; however, I want to be upfront about the fact that we pay creatives for their work. Without them, there would be no Yoga Dog.
We also have costumes to design and create. Because Yoga Dog is a combination of live action and animation - there are several characters (including our Hero - Yoga Dog) who will be people in costume and those costumes are integral to the success of our show. They need to be cute, believable, and welcoming as well as flexible, breathable, and durable.
Each episode starts out in what we call a "practical environment" - that means a "set" that we create. In this case, it's Yoga Dog's house. We have wonderful ideas of what his families house should look like. We need help translating those ideas to design renderings so that means hiring a local set designer to oversee the design and construction of the set. More likely, this is a team of people who will make sure that Yoga Dogs house is TV ready and the props included add to the character of the show.
WHO is Yoga Dog - the actual person in costume? Well, he's an actor and that's what he does for a living. What a fun job, huh? In fact, all of the characters you will see, and voices you will hear, are professional talent. That ensure not only ensures efficiency in the production world, it means that we legally contract these professionals for terms of engagement in Yoga Dog. This includes lengths of engagement, non-competes, and all the other legal stuff necessary to ensure that our actors are committed to being our characters for a very long time. Can you imagine if we cast a person to be Yoga Dog in the pilot, it was hugely successful, and then that person either didn't want to be Yoga Dog anymore or asked for unreasonable terms?
As much fun as show business is...it IS a business and much of our job is to we make sure that what we are all creating together is protected. I'm not a big fan of lawyer fees, who is? When you are creating a product, which you expect to go on for decades, there are necessary legal, copyright, trademark, etc. fees. It's imperative that this is taken seriously and done right. I've taken care of basics protections already.
This idea has been 3 years in the making and it took this long to be ready to introduce Yoga Dog to you. Honestly, I've taken Yoga Dog as far as it can go without additional financial help. That's why we're here asking you to help us.
Our process is very transparent. If you have questions...please ask them. We want you to think about Yoga Dog as an investment too. It's an investment in our team, it's an investment in what you want Yoga Dog to be, and it's an investment in the future entertainment standards of children's programming.
Yes. Absolutely! Yes! Our vision is to create a show people want to see and that will help children. If we didn't value your $5 - we would have taken Yoga Dog to a network and tried to sell it there. Yoga Dog belongs to ALL of us! That's why we're here.
Running a Kickstarter campaign is tough. It's a 24/7 effort for 30 days. We wouldn't be here if we didn't believe in Yoga Dog and believe that YOU will help us make Episode 1. I'm still convinced that you'll help us make SEASON 1!
That can't happen without you supporting us though. Every $5 is closer to our goal. We need you to believe in Yoga Dog as much as we do! We need your $5, $10, $100...whatever you can give. We are all in this together. We need your pledge...no matter what the amount.
We are hearing this a LOT lately and love it! That means you see what we're creating and want to be a part of it. That's exciting!
We are not currently hiring. However, we are ramping up on assembling our team so that - when funded - everyone will be ready to go.
We already have a team of people who have been working together for years and those positions are irreplaceable. We're always looking for others to be the "right fit" on our team though. Yoga Dog is a huge undertaking and requires talented professionals to bring the vision life. If you think you have what it takes to join our incredible team, tell us why at info@KidsWellnessAlliance.com.
Wonderful! Yes, we expect to partner with companies whose brands are aligned with our mission. If this is something you are interested in, please contact us at info@KidsWellnessAlliance and put "SPONSOR OPPORTUNITY" in the subject line. We'll be sure to get right back with you.
This is a good one and we've heard it a few times now so figured it was time to address it here. The truth is, the Yoga Dog you see is just an animated version of our logo. When we make the show, Yoga Dog will be a person in costume. That costume is not designed yet and we don't want to commit to a "look" until it is. Our team went round and round about whether we should even animate the logo and finally decided that it would help us get across that we need YOU to help us bring Yoga Dog to life. Sorry if it confused you. To be clear, Yoga Dog will have eyes in the show and he will be able to see. He may have a blind friend or two though! =)
Another good question. These are artists renderings of humans in animal costumes...which is what Yoga Dog and Sassy Cat will be. Of course our actual costumes are going to be age appropriate! Both characters will also be friendly and lovable! We apologize if the renderings are misleading in any way.
