About this project
Heroes Don't Come Home is a story about two boys named Tim and Jake. They grew up together in small town New England. When two planes hit the World Trade Center, both of them vow to join the U.S. Marines. Plans go awry and they each embark on separate paths. Decades later, a series of events forces both men back together. They are different men, changed men, and both learn just how difficult coming home from war can be.
This movie is about growing up during the war on terror and what happens when the opportunity of a lifetime means abandoning your lifelong friend as he goes off to fight for our country.
This is a story that never gets told and needs to.
The crew working on this film is composed of 100% volunteers… They love film making, love the story, and want to make this movie. It’s really the only way we could get a story like this made outside of the Hollywood System for a budget as small as this one. So that means every dollar donated is going to show up on screen, whether we’re buying blanks for the weapons, or renting lights to make a scene look incredible - anything you give will go directly into the film and not into anyone’s pocket.
If we raise more than our goal, we can secure more locations, shoot with a larger crew, rent gear that will add production value to this story, and enhance the film in post-production.
It’s a very special project to me because it’s a personal story. It's our generation's story, it's your story, it's my story... about growing up during the War on Terror and the scars that our friends came home with.
It’s a bit biographical, but it’s a great combination of action, drama, and comedy. You'll love it because it’s going to force audiences to have a conversation that we’ve been avoiding - and that’s what art should do - make us think about who we are as a country and as human beings.
You will have access to regular updates about our progress so that you'll know what's going on. Best of all you can join us in our process by watching each step as they happen on our our video blog:
Risks and challenges
We are a micro-production company and as with any movie production, there are various risks and challenges. We are offsetting those risks with production insurance, contingency plans, and a production team that is creative and has years of experience.
Most importantly we wrote this story, and we will stop at nothing to make sure this story gets told. We can't guarantee that there won't be any hiccups, but we can promise that we are committed and in love with our project, and that we will focus all of our efforts on reaching our goal on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
