A month ago, with a little help from a Rube Goldberg machine, we launched this Kickstarter to help get RaceYa out of the workshop and into the toyshop. Since then, we’ve had some incredible moments, from being picked up by Popular Mechanics and Car & Driver to making the front page of Product Hunt and a shout-out from uber-VC and righteous human being Fred Wilson. Above all, we cannot adequately express how grateful and humbled we have been by your support.
It has been extraordinarily gratifying to see how many of you are enthusiastic about what we are building and share our core mission of bringing science to children through hands-on play.
But the fact is we’re at only 50% of our funding goal. So, barring a magical intervention from a fairy god-parent, we’ve decided to suspend the campaign at 6pm tonight and reevaluate the best way to re-launch RaceYa. We’ve learned a lot from this process, not least from all of you who have given us your feedback and ideas. And it’s opened new opportunities, which we’re excited about exploring.
To all our community — our newest members and those who’ve been with us from the beginning — we want you to know we’re going to keep working to bring to life the vision you’ve supported. Kickstarter doesn’t share your emails with us, so if you haven’t already done so, please sign up here to keep on top of our progress for when we relaunch. Or shoot us at email at email@example.com.
With sincere thanks and excitement for the future,
Abigail and Team RaceYa
