Check out the love we've been getting from some of the American Ninja Warriors. We love you too!
I hated core training. So did everyone I trained.
And as a physical therapist I understood how critical core strengthen was to optimal physical performance, eliminating back pain, and looking good (if you're into that). But I still hated it.
Make core training more awesome. And by awesome, I mean more fun, effective, and convenient so we could all achieve our goals of looking good and feeling great without the mental struggle.
The StaBallizer Core Training and Gaming System.
Let's face it, most people (including us physical therapist's) have a hard time motivating to stay in shape. We all know the benefits of exercise, especially core training, but on any given day we'd rather stay home and eat Pringles than do crunches or planks. Conversely, most people love playing games, especially on their smartphones.
Games give us pleasure and distract us from the stresses of the real world. So I thought to myself, "How can I create an exercise system where people can leverage the fun of playing games against the tedium of core training?" The result was the StaBallizer Core Training and Gaming System.
I know you're wondering, "Where has this been all of my life?!!" Well, that's my bad.... but better late than never. It's changed my life as now I love core training, and I can't wait for it to change your life too. The people who have used the prototypes love it and are lined up to buy one. And you can get yours too by supporting this Kickstarter campaign today.
How do I play games on the StaBallizer?
It's simple. You just download any number of gaming apps available on iTunes or Google Play that are controlled by the tilting of your phone or tablet. Then, instead of controlling the game directly with your hands, you place it on your StaBallizer and control it while planking or squatting.
Because the gaming system is your phone, the setup travels wherever you take your phone and your StaBallizer - which can be anywhere.
You can train while navigating marble mazes, racing cars, or skiing the Alps, compete with your friends and family, or use streaming media devices, like Apple TV or Google Chromecast to display the games on your TV while you play.
What else can the StaBallizer do?
As if making core training fun isn't enough, the StaBallizer can also be transformed into the following traditional exercise tools:
And all of these tools can be stored conveniently in a duffel bag so you can take the StaBallizer to work or on vacation.
Imagine my best infomercial voice when I say,
"But wait, there's more!"
Each of these exercise tools are fully dynamic, unlike their archaic ancestors. "So what?", you ask. Well, when you decrease the stability of the exercise tool, your body is forced to work harder to balance, thus recruiting more of your deep stabilizing muscles like the transversus abdominus (abs) and rotator cuff (shoulder), which makes each exercise more challenging and more effective. And it's these deep stabilizing muscles that play the biggest role in preventing injury and improving athletic performance. Bonus!
So if you want to have a stronger core, be more balanced, have less pain, and love your core training, the StaBallizer is the tool for you.

What are the Kickstarter funds going towards?
The money raised on Kickstarter is solely for manufacturing, packaging, and shipping of the StaBallizer with a little cushion built in for the unforeseen. The "Early Bird" specials are basically a giveaway. Unfortunately, making a small run of product costs more than making millions of units. I can't afford millions of units so I pay more until I have the demand for millions of units. I expect the cost to the consumer to stay relatively the same in the future but with better margins (so I can get my investment back) once demand increases. And don't forget, shipping is built into the price for domestic backers.
To those outside the U.S. and Canada, I apologize for not having set shipping costs, but the cost to ship a full kit can be quite expensive. I can't afford to get it wrong so I will handle it on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for your understanding.
Risks and challenges
The risks this project may face are the same risks any project made of large plastic parts might face. We would all love the StaBallizer to be made in the United States but the reality is it's cost prohibitive. Unfortunately, the large molds needed for the StaBallizer cost 10x more to make in the United States than overseas. This means I have to deal with foreign suppliers and that means anything that could possibly go wrong, can go wrong.
Fortunately, I've already gone through the painstaking process of getting molds made and fine-tuning the prototypes. I've been tweaking this product for the better part of two years now. That means production can start as soon as the funds are available. I have a lot of confidence in my manufacturer, but I've seen enough to be of the mindset that, "one in the hand is worth two in the bush" - if you get my drift. If funded, I have every intention of flying to my manufacturers facility and being present during the production of the first run of product to guarantee quality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
