Who we are
see ‘n’ make plan and deliver art and design workshops for children aged 5 -12 and family groups. Integral to what we do is the development of art products that we can use as learning resources. To make our workshop activities fun, accessible and intuitive.
The story so far...
Our work is influenced by the Play Art movement. Where the forms and nature of the art products offer a wealth of possibilities and directions.
Our Heads, bodies and tails art puzzle is made from tiles that are interchangeable. The children arrange the pieces in any number of combinations. They learn through the hand and the eye, by experimenting and by chance. Children are able to devise their own solutions to the puzzle.
Ready to go
We have designed and produced a number of art games and puzzles using surplus polyethylene sheets and these are offered as rewards. They can be seen here under the title Pattern and play. They are custom made by hand to a specified size for use as a learning resource, or for example, a wall display in a children’s centre.
The money raised will enable us to produce the Heads, bodies and tails art puzzle for use in our school workshops and to sell on our website.
How we will use the money
The aim is to manufacture the art puzzle Heads, bodies and tails.
The pack and the contents are reproduced with high quality digital colour printing on 350 gsm card. Digital printing means we can create numerous versions in quantities to keep the retail price affordable around £7.00.
Although you can really make weird and wonderful creatures the activity is about exploring shape, colour and combinations. The shapes are deliberately ambiguous, that head could be a tail and so on. And it means when the children draw their own outlines they can make of them what they will.
Thanks for your support.
Risks and challenges
This is the first step to designing, manufacturing and selling a range of art products. And of course using in our workshops. It's a challenge. But, we will continually develop these art products and be responsive to the feedback given by children, parents and educators.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
