Progresss Report, Video, and a heart felt THANK YOU!
We made it to 50 percent funded, at exactly the mid-way point in our campaign. The entire Theme Park Studio team would like to extend a heart felt 'THANK YOU' to all our backers.
Currently we are finishing our path construction tool. This feature will allow players to layout walkways, pads, stairs, bridges, and more. You can independently enable pathways, fences, walls, and sidewalks while dynamically controlling their size, width and height. Paths can be shaped into any design with smooth curves, climbs, and turns. As with most features in Theme Park Studio, geometry is built in real time for immediate in-game feedback.
In addition, environmental objects can be assigned to paths, along with position and distance options. This feature automates object creation, according to your specifications, allowing you to instantly create complex walkways loaded with trees, lamps, benches, and more. Need to change the path's location? No problem, simply grab the path edge and drag. The paths are instantly rebuilt with smooth edges and all attached objects move simultaneously. This feature makes layout and design a snap. Of course, you also have the option to hand place environmental objects anywhere as needed. There is a limited amount of time left in our campaign. If we get it finished before funding closes, we will certainly upload a new video.
Finally, we have been creating the park guest meshes, for integration once the path tool is complete.
It has come to our attention that many visitors do not know we have gameplay videos showing multiple existing features of Theme Park Studio. Over the next few days we will be posting them here, along with their feature descriptions.
Update 7 Video is "Custom Scenery"
This video showcases Theme Park Studio's Custom Scenery Module by building a castle. It demonstrates importing custom meshes, creating complex objects through basic shapes, easy transformation through hot keys, switching materials, and copying sub-objects. In addition to importing custom textures and meshes built using modeling software, players will be able to create custom-built attractions and scenery out of simple objects and share them with others. Theme Park Studio will thrive on custom-built, user generated content. We want to encourage players to create new rides and scenery, and be able to share them with other players within the community.
