UCOMM Radio was a fast-paced and unique radio show focused on the union movement and all the topics, issues and current events that had an impact on hardworking people in the communities in which they live and work. UCOMM shines a light on fights against corporate greed from coast to coast. For over 4 years we had guests ranging from Congressman, former Presidential Candidate Martin O’Malley to influential labor leaders in each corner of the nation like Chris Erikson in New York, Jorge Ramirez in Chicago and Rusty Hicks in Los Angles to name a few.

Bringing UCOMM Radio back as a podcast will allow us to cut through all the bullshit that we encountered while running the show on the WABC corporation in NYC and some crappy little station on Long Island which did their best to sabotage the show every chance they could. With a reach as big as the internet offers, the gloves will come off and the conversation will be high-energy and real. We will talk about issues the average worker and union member cares about, and our messages will be strategically targeted where we can be of most help in the upcoming mid-term and Presidential election. Trump’s White House, Sports, Entertainment, bargaining fights and organizing drives with world issues, guns, and modern headline-grabbing stories will be broadcasted in a raw, hip, and funny way with a hint of seriousness all connected by bits, music and a lot of cursing.

All the support that is given to us by our supporters will go towards the construction of our studio and production of the podcast. From the microphones to the very walls of the studio, you become part of the show because you helped build it. We will keep you updated on the progress of the studio and the show with photos and live streams and whatever we promised below.

What the funding will be spent on:

  • Construction costs
  • Equipment ranging from chairs, tables, computers, and microphones to GoPros and even an on-air sign
  • Advertising
  • Audio Engineers
  • Podcast networks for distribution
  • Mobile friendly website and hosting
  • Swag for our fans

Show features:

  • Live listener call-ins
  • Live interactions on Facebook and Twitter
  • Live streams of the show so you can see host Kris LaGrange and guests and not just listen
  • Supporter thank you’s

Previously recorded versions of the shows can be found here as well as below.

We want to be able to put out the best quality content that will help spread the word of how powerful the labor movement can be, but we can’t do it without your help. All amounts are greatly appreciated and by donating you send the message that working people need a real voice.

Risks and challenges

Without proper funding, we will not be able to produce the show at the caliber needed to compete with the large news organizations that dominate and dictate the news we read and hear about every day.
