How "The Nordic" Was Born
The Nordic has been in the works of my mind since roughly 2008. I had just learned of a race of aliens called Nordics, and being of Scandinavian decent I was intrigued. The more I read and learned about them and kept growing a story in my mind (as a writer I tend to do that with things with catch my attention) and more and more it just kept growing and becoming more complex.
Eventually, in 2010, I had the basis for a screenplay which I pitched to the BBC and Sky over in the UK. After not hearing anything for about a year, I released the screenplay as a book, and not long after, began getting fan-mail from my readers commenting on I how I should develop it into a comic book series, graphic novel, tv show or something visual. So, I hooked up with artist Mark Brayer and thus began the adventure of building this fresh, new series.

The Nordic is a comic book series chronicling the times and investigations of William Davidson who has just learned from an alien race that he has near-perfect genes to wield the abilities and learn the true history of his original race. He finds himself on a quest to expose the true origins of all humans on Earth, one that has been kept under lock and key by churches, governments, world leaders, for almost all time.
William learns of his unusually perfect DNA when a member of the Nordics, Bertil, pays him a visit and begins taking on the role of mentor to him.
William is normal 20-something guy from the UK. He plays amateur rugby, works part-time at the local radio station, and enjoys time out with his friends. All that is sent into a downward spiral of keeping himself safe from military, MIB, and even his politically power-hungry Aunt Margaret who wants him out of the way so she can inherit what she sees as hers.
In exchange for your generous backing, we are offering free copies of the comic, posters:

What Will the Money Be Going For?
After Kickstarter takes their percentage and taxes are paid on your contributions, the remainder will be used to help us get over the hump of printing cost, mass marketing, promo materials, and lets not forget the expense of conventions, something we are in dire need to being able to do to successfully make this a strong year for The Nordic.
Launching The Nordic
If our Kickstarter campaign goes well, we will be able to run first printing almost immediately, giving us the ability to launch in print and digitally with 30-45 days, so we should have the first issue of The Nordic in stores by August. If we overshoot our budget and depending by how much, we should be able to have the next issue out right away after that, the following month of the month after. On thing Mark and agree on is 1) not making readers wait long for the next issue, and 2) giving readers not only strong artwork, but also a strong detailed story-line. This is what we deliver in The Nordic. The Nordic is not another b&w comic, but is in full color. Directly after launching comic book series, the fiction book for The Nordic will be released and we will start in on a graphic novel for the holidays, hopefully. All this depends on whether or not we have a successful campaign here on Kickstarter, and how much we overshoot our mark on here as well.
