Ithura & Porthaven PDFs mailed out!

Posted by Phillip McGregor (Creator)

As I am typing this the DTRPG mailout software is, theoretically, mailing out codes for your copies of the PDF of Ithura & Porthaven ...

As usual, I fully expect around 5% of you to not receive those codes due to the buggy DTRPG software (that's at least 20-30 people, based on experience) ... send me a Kickstarter IM if you don't  receive the email with the code in, say, 24 hours from 7:30pm Sydney (Australia) time.

The next step is to create the special PDF for the Print on Demand version, which requires a lot more work than the basic PDF you are receiving. Then that has to be run through DTRPG's electronic approval process, and, if it gets through the first time, that's another week (add 3-4 days for each additional go-around).

Once approved, printing takes anywhere from 2-3 days to a week and shipping takes another 2-4 days to me here in Australia.

The first version will be Softcover, followed by, if it's OK, a Hardcover version ... I would hope that all this will be done by mid April, but it may take a little longer if there are significant problems (which I don't forsee - hopefully I am right!)

Because your Kickstarter Profiles are marked as 'Private' I cannot send Kickstarter IM's to you - I have (or will) send the codes a second time, but you need to IM me through Kickstarter if they don't get through this time.

I didn't get one, either, Eric, and will be contacting Phillip about it!

After checking both spam and trash in my email, I did not receive the codes from DTRPG.

The number and placement of chimneys on the plan on #132 should be understood in the context of me using Profantasy software ... the buildings(but not the towers) are stock images and come as they are.

So, basically, see the images on the map as mere placeholders and use the actual floorplans on the following pages to determine placement of chimneys etc.

As for the Great Hall as shown on #133 has substantial wall joists with substantial cross timbers running between them crosswise ... that's why the hall isn't all that wide. Elite structures could, and did, use large timbers (either local or imported) which, indeed, were expensive, but these were elite structures.

They are subsumed into the exterior walls which, of course, aren't to scale thickness on the map, either!

Interested on your attention to engineering. I am not one, but for example looking at the map of Porthaven Castle. New Residence; would the ground floor long hall need some substantial pillars to take the weight of the levels above. This is only from a quick scan but I assume its about 10m wide. Also there are a lot of fireplaces but only two chimneys that don't seem to line up with floor plan.
Can totally live with a 'shut up and enjoy my hard work' answer, as it is all very well done.
