Kado Update - what we’ve been doing so far #2
We wanted to bring you up to speed as to what we’ve been doing in the past few weeks since our last update **spoiler alert – technical info ahead**.
First off, our PCB (you can see a picture of it on our last update) has been completely populated with the necessary components. Unfortunately, as some are custom made per our specific design, there was a 2 weeks delay in their delivery. We’re evaluating the impact of this on the overall timeline of the project and will update as soon as possible.
Second, the integration round we proceeded with yielded good results concerning output and power conversion efficiency. We’re now testing additional required parameters in the integration, such as surge protection and others, to make sure certification goes as smoothly as possible.
Third, we too have followed the unveiling of the new iphones. According to apple’s website (and similarly to previous models) the new ones come with “Lightning to USB cable” and a “USB Power Adapter”. We’re checking to see if Kado can connect to the Qi charging pads too and believe there shouldn’t be any problems in that area.
We're also working to get the MFI certification provided by Apple certified labs. Their role is to check that submitted products are compliant to Apple standards.
Fourth, if you’ve been following some of the comments here lately, you probably noticed there’s a legal issue our attorneys are dealing with. We appreciate the fact some of you took the effort to look deeper into this matter and thank you for the helpful information and support, but prefer this is handled in the appropriate legal channels. We think we should stick to what we know best and let our legal team do what it does best, uninterrupted.
Finally, looks like time really flies! Just 1 year ago we had our final round of design for the Kado charger. We found in our archives some of the earlier options and wanted to share those.
We’ll keep updating you as we progress.
Wishing you a great weekend,
your Kado team
