Here's To The Losers, 25th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue
To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Love Jones's first full-length studio album, we are re-releasing Here's To The Losers, as a limited edition double gatefold LP, released around the April 2018 Record Store Day. Limited to only 500 copies, this record is a Love Jones produced self-release.
The pre-sales through this kickstarter campaign will fund the expedition to locate the masters, press and package the record, with the goal to break-even. Without meeting this goal, we won't move forward with the re-issue.
The Record and The Rewards
Here's To The Losers will be a double gatefold LP, pressed on 180 grams of the finest vinyl we could find. The standard edition is one red, one black vinyl record. You can also select limited "all red" vinyl, or "all black" vinyl, through the kickstarter campaign only.
The hits include "Paid For Loving" made famous in the Swingers soundtrack. "Santa Monica and Orange," a rendition of "Paid For Loving" by the band Tool. At no extra cost, we will include "Custom Van," "Ohio River," "Central Avenue," and every other song that originally appeared on the CD. Yes, even "Pineapple." Also included will be several still-to-be-determined bonus tracks which could include a few live cuts, a re-mix or two, and a few previously unreleased tracks.
In addition to the basic album, we are offering some premium rewards that include other Love Jones rarities, unavailable and out-of-print, and swag.
Our personal favorite is the Love Jones Vinyl Collection, where you get all the bands long-players in beautiful, pristine, and in some cases, vintage vinyl.
Some of the rewards packages include tickets/guest list to any release parties that we plan. These would be held in Louisville, and potentially Los Angeles. More info will be available once we have it.

Risks and challenges
Pressing a record is pretty straightforward, however there are lots of moving parts that must come together. Our projected release date is May 2018. The original recordings will be remastered for vinyl. We are also recreating the album art, as much of that original art can't be located. Finally, we are locking down the bonus track selections, and remastering/remixing as needed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
