Gabby, Cruzer & Honey is a delightful, colorful and even humorous children’s book about three animal friends trying to fit in.
Thank you for checking out my project!
Welcome to a wonderful and vibrant world where three animal friends discover that being themselves, although a little different, is really the best way to be.
This is my FIRST Kickstarter Project and I am very excited about it! The story follows Gabby, Cruzer and Honey, a group of animals who are a little odd. Gabby, the Giraffe, lost several of her spots. Honey, the Hippo, has very large feet. Cruzer, the Crane, try as he might, just can’t fly.
In order to get ready for an animal dance, each of them tries to fit in by hiding their differences. They pull together some clothing, string and a few balloons for a series of fun, but slightly unsuccessful, attempts to fit in.
It has been my goal to print this book for over a year! I illustrated it for my Thesis at Montana State University. When I printed it for my thesis show, I had it too large, wooden bound and WAY too expensive for everyday readers to enjoy. Investigating further, I looked into local printers to print a soft cover version. Even printing small orders, the book was too expensive for readers to enjoy.
That’s where you come in. If I can sell 110 copies, or raise $1600, I will be able to print a soft cover version of the book at an affordable cost. If I can sell 240 books or raise $3,600, I will be able to upgrade all book orders to hard back!!! No extra charge. Sadly, if I don’t reach my goal, “Gabby, Cruzer & Honey” will remain files on my computer as Kickstarter is an all or nothing model.
Thank you for all your support!! This project would not be possible without amazing people like yourself.

What is Kickstarter? This sounds fishy to me....
My mom said the same thing. So I did some research. Kickstarter is one of the main “crowdfunding” websites. It's a platform for ambitious creative people to bring their project to life (such as publishing children’s books, producing films, making music and more) through direct financial support of others, called “backers.”
Kickstarter has an all or nothing model. Only projects that reach 100% of their funding goal will go through. You can learn more about them here. It's a great website and I hope to see some of your projects on here someday!
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
I am hoping that I have overcome some of the greatest challenges. This project originally started out with an author I met online and a completely different story. Midway through the project, the author got cold feet and backed out. With the help from a whole creative team, I was able to get this project back on track with a new story line and several different characters.
My goal is to get this into your hands by Christmas. Getting the book printed, packaged and shipped in time to beat the holiday rush and arrive in your hands by Dec. 25th will be quite a project! In order to do it, I have already lined up a printer and am just putting the final touches on the files.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
