closer than they think! As the body count grows and the bullets fly three cops and a rat put their lives on the line to stop a mad man and his crazed cult from killing and devouring 100 women. Can Dick and Jeff figure out a way to stop the killing without killing each other?

Jeff Thompson AKA Tommygun is a hard as nails cop with almost 20 hard years under his belt. He is large, intimidating, and unkempt, in need of a shave and usually wearing a shabby sweater or a stained tie and dingy jacket. After his father’s untimely passing, Jeff was shown the ways of the Blue by his father’s ex –partner and now
Captain Phil Phillips. Jeff is separated from his wife and misses his son; a hard job has taken its toll on this man and his family. He fills this hole in his heart with justice, promising himself that he will make the world safe for his family through any means necessary all too hopefully impress them. He is tough, quick witted and an epic smartass. He loves to make people mad! He is nick named Tommygun by his friends as he shares a last name with the guns creator. As a joke he purchases a real Tommygun and pulled it on some friends at work in good natured fun sealing the nickname. No one screws with Tommygun. Dick Johnson is a young freshly made homicide detective with a lot to prove and as much to learn.
He is young, handsome, cocky, very smart, driven, a subtle sharp smart ass, and a secret fan of Jeff. Looking for a man to guide him, but growing up with a mom, sister and deceased father, young Dick latches on to stories of Tommygun’s rise to glory, inspiring his now job. One problem, Tommygun resents the kid’s quick rise and busts his balls harder than anyone else on the force. A lesser man would fall into Jeff’s trap. Dick is taking this time to prove to Jeff that he is also a badass and an epic cop as well as keep the badge a port in the storm, not a symbol to be feared.
Captain Phil Phillips is a hard as nails no holds barred all American badass. He is all the explosive, angry, stressed out captains in every film multiplied by 100. When he talks he is either ball busting or dishing out great advice surrounded by ball busting. When he talks you listen no matter who you are! He is the kind of guy who would bring a tactical nuke to a knife fight. He is truly one of a kind. With 35 years and about 4 million Rolaids under his belt he is a harder man on a hard job. He loves Jeff like a son but knows he is stubborn as a bull mule. He is very impressed with Dick and he has been giving him help. He feels as though these two detectives would complement each other and make a great team. When things go wrong, the Captain has a lot of explaining to do, is this serial killing cop closer than he appears?
Francis Mcgilicuty AKA The Cannibal Cop is a young man who has led a twisted double life for a long time. He is a respected senior patrolman whose mother is also in law enforcement. He is the secret love child of the cities official crime boss Victor Santorini and a life long secret to Mr. Santorini’s “real” family. His horrible truth is one of the deep seeded issues of a twisted childhood. Francis’ mother planned her unholy child from its conception based in lies and raising the child to believe he is the CHOSEN ONE. The vessel of an ancient evil spirit known only as THE DARK ONE, he must consume the souls of the women he sacrifices through the flesh. When he eats one hundred women he can receive this dark spirit becoming like the antiChrist. An obvious looney, he hides among the very police men who hunt him.
Samuel Meulin III AKA Shabby Sammy is Jeff’s long time confidential informant. He is dressed in the one time glitzy outfits of his 90’s prime, now dusty and shabby with age and wear. He is thought of as an icon of local crime that went crazy one day, stepped back from his throne, making way for a new undisputed king of the underworld Victor Santorini. Shabby Sammy now wanders around twisting his way through every deal in the underworld taking a slice here and a taste there. Collecting finder’s fees, professional discussions, setting up meetings and selling info to the cops, an old school confidence man in the vein of a slapstick Harry Lime. He is slippery, suave, sophisticated and smart. Does he have everyone fooled, including himself?
Yvonne is The Captains other half. His secretary for more than 20 years, she is one off his closest confidants and a crutch he can lean on. She knows what the Cap is thinking before he does. She is like a 2 nd mother to Dick and a close friend Tommygun, a fixture in the police station, silently weaving her way through every crime in the department. Is she the caring hardworking assistant to the captain, or a behind the scenes power house who can subliminally control the people around her like a master puppeteer?
Victor Santorini is the Don of the city, period, no questions allowed. What he says goes and his sway is felt far and wide. No one is able to do anything without his ok. He holds this control with an iron fist. He is an original gangster, a first generation kind of guy. Messing with this man is an instant death warrant carried out by his bodyguard, bag man and unofficial adopted son Guido. Victor is hiding a dark secret, a son from an extra marital affair with a minor over 30 years ago. She and their bastard child are grown now and Victor is poised to find out some disturbing news from them, news that could bring down an empire.
Guido is Mr. Santorini’s right hand. Victor asks and Guido makes it so. He is more feared than Santorini since if you see Santorini you are not likely to die. He is a man of few words but a serious physical presence. He is not afraid of any man; he is a fierce fighter and a skilled assassin who also knows how to maneuver in the underworld like a real player. Guido is also an invisible sore to the Cannibal Cop since he is thought of as a son to Santorini but he, the real son isn’t even shunned, a shunned existence is still an existence! Guido doesn’t know this…yet.
Detective Long is a local detective who is in direct competition with Tommygun and the rookie. His partner is detective Howard. He works the job with a sharp tongue and a razor wit. He likes to suave his way through life, use his selfobsessive nature to unsuccessfully charm what he needs. He is a loyal cop and he will always be there when needed, gun drawn, covering his brothers in blue. He is a strong willed man and the elder of the two detectives, occasionally helping hot headed Howard rein it in.
Detective Howard is a local detective who is in direct competition with Tommygun and the rookie. His Partner is Detective Long. Detective Howard has a notoriously short fuse and he is known to blow if mishandled. Tommygun knows this and uses it to his advantage when sealing his place as the top producing Detective in the department. This fact makes Howard nuts which helps the button pushing along, much to the joy of Tommygun. Detective Howard is always yelling and getting quickly flustered. He is a great Detective and is always there in defense of his blue blooded brothers!
Larry AKA the Phantom is Dick’s long time buddy and college roommate. He is a classic shut in and has many social disorders, but, he is a virtual computer savant. He is always online and his day job is computer related and all work from home. He dresses very Emo and has black hair in an outrageous rock style hairdo. He wears black girl pants, a little eye liner and bears a striking resemblance to the girl with the dragon tattoo. He is also the world’s first cyber detective; he refers to himself as the phantom in reference to his most favorite pulp stories like the Shadow. He uses his unbelievable computer talents to be a force for good and justice on the internet which is a giant den of iniquity… and germs… and people.

- THE PLAN:
JFR Productions in association with 2thirteen Productions, WNY Grip & Lighting, Chris Cosgrave with the help of various businesses in Buffalo (such as Uncle Sams Buffalo) are going to make a feature length movie for less than $40,000. We are going to use the skills we’ve learned working in the entertainment industry to finish the film completely in house in order to keep the overhead to a minimum.
- THE BUDGET:
JFR Productions is looking for the funds to make this film as efficiently as possible. This film is written to be made with a specific crop of talent and to be at a minimal budget. There are several factors involved in making a feature film for independent distribution. I will be listing these factors here for the readers benefit.
- TRAVEL, FOOD, & LODGING:
Yes, it’s true that most people do not realize this fact, one of the most expensive parts of a film is food and lodging. On top of the actual paycheck involved in making a film the producers are also responsible for the living arrangements and meals of the out of town talent and crew. This includes Travel in most cases. All this is discovered during contract negotiations. Local cast and crew will get access to craft services. Out of Town Cast and Crew get three meals a day and access to craft services. Extras get a limited selection of snacks and water. This shoot is scheduled for 14 days. This would normally cost well over $7,000 but JFR Productions is a full service production company and has in house gourmet chefs providing a healthy, well balanced meal for our cast and crew ensuring they stay fresh energized and healthy. Our craft services area contains healthy items including grains nuts granola and organic items, water, juice, coffee, tea and a small section of sweets. Alcohol will never be allowed on set as it is an insurance liability. A healthy, full satisfied crew will spend its time making a film not looking for the next break or complaining they are hungry. Some of the food and craft services supplies would be usually donated to help redistribute money for the budget.
JFR Productions will be working with a tight crew of film professionals who have experience working together with time limit restraints on location. These facts are proven by their participation in professional and independent film and television production throughout years of combined experience. I like to emphasize the fact that our work is seen on TVs and released to mass consumption in the international marketplace making us Professionals not hobbyists. A strong and professional crew is important to any film but especially in an ultralow budget film that has a ¼ of the normal crew. These people make the machine move. Without their often back braking labor the film cannot happen, basically, a film is only as good as its crew. With all the best equipment and world renowned actors in place a crumby crew will put together a crumby film, period. These film professionals are willing to work below the normal rates they’d expect on a higher budgeted feature because they believe in the story, and are passionate about what they do. The people assembled for this film have combined credits including Films and television shows for Encore, SyFy Channel, Discovery Channel and some kind of distribution or television time whether national or international.
Chris Rados is the owner of WNY Grip and Lighting a full service grip truck. He is one hell of a film maker and can make your film look any way you like. He is providing his equipment for the shoot, WNY Grip and Lighting is truly one stop shopping as we get our lighting tech along with the lights, stingers(extension cords) audio equipment, camera equipment, generators, dolly track, car mounts basically anything film related you can think of. His influence will move behind the camera for very intense scenes that our director also stars in. He is an award winning Director for his short film. His Name is Clownface and an invaluable member of the Production crew. He will wear several hats serving as co-director, producer and beyond.
Chris Cosgrave is a versatile film maker with a focus on Digital effects and editing. He will be behind the camera for very important scenes which will call for proper plating and lighting for digital FX to be added in postproduction. Chris will collect the data and begin editing scenes as we shoot so we can see if more coverage is needed, and if shots need to be rescheduled while our out of town guests are in town. Chris is our prop master as he has an extensive array of airsoft weapons in his private collection just perfect for our production. Airsoft weapons are perfect as they are completely nonlethal toy weapons for the sake of our insurance and cast and crew safety. Chris adds the muzzle flash and guns action in post, not just for safety, but because it looks great and offers us more control as standard film rates miss some muzzle flashes produced by blanks.
John Renna started his career in Special FX and Costuming at a young age providing fx makeup applications for friends and family. After years of this he worked in large scale professional haunts honing this craft to not only fool the
naked eye, but apply FX on large numbers of actors in a very short period of time. With well over a decade of Makeup FX, prop creation, blood sending unit assembly, sculpting and costume designing enough people said, wow you should work in movies! In 2008 John worked on his first film and now has the experience of working on upwards of 30 sets in situations including; Theater, shorts, features, commercials and Television in positions like Production Manager, Special FX, Costume Designer, Director, Camera Operator, Director of Photography,1 st AD, Producer, Actor and even P.A. giving him the tools to run a set from both sides of the camera while providing the fx.
(see Porkchop 3D Actoras Porkchop and FX artist) He works full time as a filmmaker. He knows the script inside and out, as he wrote it, but, most importantly, he has the Set, FX and acting experience guiding his direction.
Soundtrack and scoring will be provided by Jim Taylor of JBT Recording. He has provided tracks for the anthology Tales of Darkmind, he scored Sepulcher and Razor Sharp’s Porkchop 2. He is an amazing musician who is comfortable in the world of film and versed in the soundtracks of the films we are focusing on emulating. The sound track is produced from scratch and inspired by the action/exploitation films of the 70’s and 80’s, ambient stylized tracks of Carpenter, the comedies of the 80’s and 90’s plus a little touch of modern rock and metal. To say that he is perfect for the job is an understatement as his love is making music for film and scoring.
Additional tracks from some local artists and some people attached to the film will also be utilized. Kamp Crystal Lake and The TimO and Danny Hicks Brain Invasion are just two of the groups providing songs for the soundtrack.
Costumes and props are being supplied, via donation, to the production by Uncle Sam’s Army Navy Surplus Store in downtown Buffalo. These costumes are actual police and military surplus lending a used authentic feel to the equipment. If there is a nic or a scratch in the surface it was found in the field while being utilized, no clean fresh unused prop looks here! These are authentic, no joke police, swat and military equipment and perfect for the film. These amazing pieces of equipment/ art are at our disposal lending a truly authentic
look and feel to the finished product. We have the badges, tactical vests, weapon belts, holsters, pins, helmets, hats, handcuffs, police caps, police patches and velcro patches as well as all the boots uniform shirts and pants. Uncle Sam’s offers us an enormous warehouse FULL of costume pieces to help our actors look the part.
Risks and challenges
With no insurance comes great financial responsibilities! For less than $2,000 This film can be insured for several factors. Just a couple of these are provided by JFR Productions’ in house Special FX and the Handy work of Chris Cosgrave’s digital FX. We use air power not explosive squibs and no blanks of any kind on the set. This eliminates a large amount of danger on our sets as well as eliminates the need for explosives permits. An example of this was the death of Brandon Lee who was hit by foreign matter in a gun which became a projectile when the Blank detonated. The bullet hit is blood died gel being replaced in a tube by air and all gun action is achieved in post. Simply put this means no explosions less liability. The best part is the look of these squibs; they have been used by Japanese filmmakers for decades and are featured in A list films like Tarantino’s epic action yarns. Benefits of the insurance reach beyond the financial coverage provided; it has a residual effect on the entire project. Tim Clark and Rich Wall of the Buffalo Niagara Film Commission are very active in the film community and has pushed for a lot of benefits in our region. Part of his initiative provides locations, financial incentives and local municipal authorities’ services in order to make filming in Buffalo an ongoing reality. Plus finding private property owners and local business support is multiplied tenfold when they know their business is covered for any and all damages which could hypothetically happen. One of the most important parts of this small piece of the puzzle is all cast and crew would have access to workers compensation ensuring a feeling of safety for all involved.
