About this project
Build A Sculpture Garden!
Life size bronze water fountain, "Lady of the Leaves."
The sculpture garden I am creating is designed to be a place where those who love art can relax among the sound of water fountains, have fun ringing bells, and browse sculptures large and small.
I purchased a location for the garden at Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie Texas. The building currently on the future sculpture garden location is falling down.
Foundation has rotted. Walls are decomposing. Plants are turning wood to soil.
- Removal of old building.
- Foundation of the garden. Several sculptures will need a base that will hold a lot of weight!
- Casting of masterpiece level bronze sculptures and water fountains.
Bronze casting is expensive, but the results entirely worth the work and expense.
I am dedicated to working hard on a large seven to eight foot tall Phoenix water fountain, a life size swan water fountain, as well as a number of other complimentary bells and sculptures for this garden.
Imagine walking through a doorway, water trickling through bronze feathers beside you, phoenix wings arching above.
This small pewter Phoenix is just 1.5 inches tall. The Bronze water fountain Phoenix will be eight feet tall!
This is a rough sketch of the grand entry to the sculpture garden.
The building must come down at the end of May. It is not safe to leave it up. I have a talented builder ready to help lay the foundation for a new space that celebrates art.
Life size bronze "Green Leaf Man" and other nature themed bronze sculpture will fill the garden.
The garden will include a demonstration area where those who stop by can see a work in progress. Part of the artistic beauty of sculpture is watching the process of transformation as materials take form under the guidance of an artist.
Donations of $10.00 or more choose from the charms above. I sculpt the originals in wax, then create a mold to cast into metal.
I am excited to create a space that allows for display of art, public viewing of the creativel process, and bronze masterpieces for patron pleasure.
Sculptural pieces I create will become part of the building structure. Others will reside among flowers and water. Some will hang. Others are interactive.
Imagine sitting next to a bronze swan, water trickling through branches arched gracefully above it.
Donations of $50.00 or more choose from the sculptures shown; owl, snowman, phoenix, wolf, baby dragon, or frog prince. All reward levels receive the items from the levels before it.
- The old building will be removed June of 2012.
- The garden foundation will be completed by the end of 2012.
- The phoenix water fountain and other large sculpture for the garden will be completed by March of 2013.
My foundry is ready to pour the metal as soon as the foundations of the sculpture garden are in place and financing complete.
Pledges of $200.00 or more choose between this pewter Bat in the Belfry Bell or the Bronze Maple in the Trees Bell. No two bells look exactly alike. They are individually cast and patina coloration will vary bell to bell.
I will keep you updated on the project's progress with photographs of works in progress and improvements to the location.
Visit my website for updates, or sign up for my YouTube channel to see the garden in progress. You will be able to see how your donations are transforming the space I have obtained for the garden into a place of beauty and artistic wonder.
Stop by and rest in the sculpture garden when you visit the festival. The garden is located next to the shop.
You can browse the shop to find a work of art to take home with you, or simply enjoy the tranquility of the garden. All funds raised through kickstarter will go to creation of the sculpture garden.
