Groupie Squirrel Tees 2: Never Forget
Creating funny, snarky, nerdy, and sometimes weird t-shirts to support the webcomic "With the Band" (which is all of those things)!
Groupie-Squirrel Tees has several new t-shirt designs ready to go to production, and just needs the funds to pay for the shirts.
Three of my favorite things in the world are music, comics, and snarky t-shirts. Last April I launched my own web comic about music, "With the Band." Thanks to your help with G-S's first project, we already have two designs printed and selling! Now we're ready to add a fourth (and maybe more--go Stretch Goals!).
VM-Day ("Victory Mordor Day"). The Gondorian New Year. 25 March, as the Shire reckons such things. A day we should never forget. My goal of $1000 will pay for the first design's three color screens, the test printing, and six dozen additional printings to go up for sale.
The New Design
The new design is ready to go to the printer (you can also see the design here). Let your LotR geek-flag fly and remind people everywhere that nerd freedom isn't free! ADDENDUM: I altered the design slightly (with the permission of all the current supporters) to change the emphasis from "3.25" (a deeply nerdy joke) to "Never Forget" (a slightly less nerdy joke. I think it works better and is less confusing to the masses this way!
The Old Design
Or, if you would like to support the second Kickstarter, but really prefer the "Mouse Star" shirt from the first Kickstarter, you can get one those shirts too!
The Design in Between
Or you can have one of the meta Groupie Squirrel Tees Groupie Squirrel t-shirts we printed in between projects!
Finally, we have a limited number of Special Edition Purple Groupie Squirrel Tees t-shirts that you can order specifically with a $30 pledge. If you order multiple tees and want one of them to be this one, just add $5 to your pledge.
New Pledge Reward: It's Okay, You're With the Band!
For a $50 Pledge you'll receive a one-of-a-kind, personalized "With the
Band" comic strip! You send me an amusing personal anecdote and pictures of yourself and/or any relevant characters (with their permission, of course!), and I'll make your a one, two, or four-panel (depending on length of the story and narrative necessity) WtB comic strip (see Rewards, to the right)!
For example, a friend (and previous KS supporter) posted the following story on his Facebook Timeline: "A small white girl once told me that I know nothing of the plight of black people because my mother is white." From that, and a couple of pictures from his FB photos, I made this:
You'll get both a printed (signed or not signed, your choice) and a digital copy of your strip. I may post your strip as "vacation filler" at wtbcomic.com as well, but ONLY with your express permission--it's yours!
Stretch Goal #1: $1500
Risks and challenges
Most of the risks and challenges I've already overcome with the first Groupie Squirrel T-shirt Project. The printer and I already have a working relationship, and we've sorted out the formatting issues between my designs and her equipment.
The most likely challenge is one that I welcome, that of too much success. If this Kickstarter generates enough support, production delays will be inevitable. The printer can turn around hundreds of shirts in less than two weeks, but if we need to generate thousands, obviously it will take longer.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
