Hi Everyone, we've just sent around an update that will give you some info about where we are with the film and the rewards. We really appreciate your support and patience through this process. Look for more updates and communication as we begin manufacturing your rewards this month and thanks again for sticking with us!

    2. Dennis Michael 3 days ago

The lack of communication is getting a bit frustrating. There are 1483 backers who have become advocates for this project and yet here we are asking questions...waiting for updates. Being ignored. I really want to see this film happen. Jessica can you please give us an honest update? What's going on?

    3. Erick Marshall 4 days ago

Hi, so we are past mid november and I did not received anything. Not even the survey... So what’s going on?

I've been waiting for information about where this will be shown. The good news is that I've been unable to get out of town due to work pressures. The bad news is that there haven't been any updates indicating screening dates or places. Now I'm starting to plan a trip to Canada and I'm anxious to know what's up with screening.

Any news I can use to plan a trip?

I am so disappointed that the Ernst Rock poster is not available. I've always loved that poster and I chose it very specifically.
The Rolf Harder posters are wonderful but I don't want to own one. Are there any other options?

Great to see my teachers from OCA(D): Hans Kleefeld, Burton Kramer, and Stuart Ash. The foundation they provided guides me every day, Burt’s encouragement propelled me to apply to grad school (Cranbrook Academy of Art). Great work!!

Congratulations on the successful completion of fundraising and the beginning of work on the film.
In the future, each country should at least have such material...
Greeting from all designers of Russia .. !!))

      Excellent new rewards.
      Amazing project.
So happy to see this fully backed!!

    24. Mark Rejhon on March 16, 2017

Wow, $75K of $80K -- so close! If you reach your goal and don't plan to do any Stretch Goals -- Maybe give the 1974 CBC Graphics Manual KickStarter a little bit of a push?

Perhaps work with them to turn that into a 3-minute or 5-minute documentary section, e.g. the Making Of the Reprint, etc. Given the CBC logo is probably a flagship logo for Design Canada.

@Kathy Fedirchuk CWB is a beautiful logo! Once we've finished the film, you'll see that while we're not able to focus in depth on EVERY amazing Canadian logo (see the discussion of GO Transit below) there will be lots of opportunities for 'cameos'...thanks so much for your support!

Fun project! Happy to back it. Call me a prairie girl, but it feels like the CWB is a glaring omission...

@Eryn Corbeil We will be doing lots of fun events in Toronto, we will absolutely be in touch when the time is right!

@Kostandinos Baltzoglou you'll receive a link and code to view the film online. We've used as our service in the past and have been very happy with them.

Huge fan of Aaron Draplin and just changed my pledge level. I was wondering if you could let me know the size of the poster he's signed? I may have just missed it, but I couldn't seem to find the dimensions. Thank you :)

@Mark Rejhon We are also BIG fans of the Go Transit logo! And well we can't go in depth on the origin story of EVERY incredible Canadian design, you can bet the Go logo will at the very least have a cameo!

And regarding your CBC Graphic Manual suggestion, we'll certainly reach out to them and see what's possible. As two projects seeking more attention for great Canadian design, it makes sense for us to collaborate with each other. Many thanks for your support and kind words!

    38. Jessica Edwards 2-time creator on March 2, 2017

@Andrew Campbell. What a great idea! We'll certainly consider it! But first we've got to get this labor of love finished.

So excited about this! Congrats on launching and can't wait to see the film. I'll second Mark on GO and Andrew on the book. All the best, I know it will be a success.

    40. Mark Rejhon on March 2, 2017

Also, another good Canadian graphics design is the GO Transit logo, it is iconic similar to many of these logos.

Wikipedia, Logo section of GO Transit article, "The GO Transit logo has remained largely unchanged since the agency was founded. The design was created by Gangon/Valkus, a Montreal-based design firm that was also responsible for the corporate identities of Canadian National and Hydro-Québec.[58][59] The firm's team wanted to create a unified logo using the initials of the Government of Ontario ("GO"), via two circles with a T incorporated into it. Lead designer Frank Fox described the creation of the logo as "a happy accident. More or less, we had this feeling among us that this couldn't be true. We went off trying many other solutions, but nothing else was good enough."[58]"

    41. Mark Rejhon on March 2, 2017

Can you please include in your documentary. Reach out to them, work with them please, etc.

This is such a wonderful idea/campaign. So proud to be a backer.
What are the odds you would consider putting together a book with some of the material you have gathered and created? That's another project I would back in a heartbeat!
