Have a question?
Hello? I need see great brilhant film about great Canada design! Cheers!
This is wonderful news! Your perseverance on this project is truly inspirational.
Well done Greg!!
Great to see my teachers from OCA(D): Hans Kleefeld, Burton Kramer, and Stuart Ash. The foundation they provided guides me every day, Burt’s encouragement propelled me to apply to grad school (Cranbrook Academy of Art). Great work!!
Congratulations on the successful completion of fundraising and the beginning of work on the film.
In the future, each country should at least have such material...
Greeting from all designers of Russia .. !!))
Congratulations on meeting and exceeding your funding goal! Looking forward to this design film. Great to be a part of backing it.

@Megan Oldfield Thank you! We're so grateful for the support! Thanks for keeping us going!
@Blair Francy it disappeared very quickly! Thanks for your support of the film!
Where do we find the mascot poster??
Excellent new rewards.
So happy to see this fully backed!!
Wow, $75K of $80K -- so close! If you reach your goal and don't plan to do any Stretch Goals -- Maybe give the 1974 CBC Graphics Manual KickStarter a little bit of a push?
Perhaps work with them to turn that into a 3-minute or 5-minute documentary section, e.g. the Making Of the Reprint, etc. Given the CBC logo is probably a flagship logo for Design Canada.

@Kathy Fedirchuk CWB is a beautiful logo! Once we've finished the film, you'll see that while we're not able to focus in depth on EVERY amazing Canadian logo (see the discussion of GO Transit below) there will be lots of opportunities for 'cameos'...thanks so much for your support!
Fun project! Happy to back it. Call me a prairie girl, but it feels like the CWB is a glaring omission...
@Eryn Corbeil We will be doing lots of fun events in Toronto, we will absolutely be in touch when the time is right!
@Kostandinos Baltzoglou you'll receive a link and code to view the film online. We've used www.vhx.tv as our service in the past and have been very happy with them.
Stretch goal time!!
Curious about the digital download. Will this be delivered through Netflix or something similar?
Hey @Jessica Edwards! Congrats on more than half way! WHOOT! Do you require any Toronto-based volunteers? If yes, I'd like to throw my hat in.
@Andrew Campbell we love Aaron too! We love him even more because he LOVES Canadians! Poster size is 24” x 30”
Huge fan of Aaron Draplin and just changed my pledge level. I was wondering if you could let me know the size of the poster he's signed? I may have just missed it, but I couldn't seem to find the dimensions. Thank you :)
I love this project!
@Eryn Corbeil Thanks tons for the support and the cheerleading! Can't wait to finish the project and share it with you.
@Mark Rejhon We are also BIG fans of the Go Transit logo! And well we can't go in depth on the origin story of EVERY incredible Canadian design, you can bet the Go logo will at the very least have a cameo!
And regarding your CBC Graphic Manual suggestion, we'll certainly reach out to them and see what's possible. As two projects seeking more attention for great Canadian design, it makes sense for us to collaborate with each other. Many thanks for your support and kind words!
@Andrew Campbell. What a great idea! We'll certainly consider it! But first we've got to get this labor of love finished.
So excited about this! Congrats on launching and can't wait to see the film. I'll second Mark on GO and Andrew on the book. All the best, I know it will be a success.
Also, another good Canadian graphics design is the GO Transit logo, it is iconic similar to many of these logos.
Wikipedia, Logo section of GO Transit article, "The GO Transit logo has remained largely unchanged since the agency was founded. The design was created by Gangon/Valkus, a Montreal-based design firm that was also responsible for the corporate identities of Canadian National and Hydro-Québec. The firm's team wanted to create a unified logo using the initials of the Government of Ontario ("GO"), via two circles with a T incorporated into it. Lead designer Frank Fox described the creation of the logo as "a happy accident. More or less, we had this feeling among us that this couldn't be true. We went off trying many other solutions, but nothing else was good enough.""
Can you please include http://cbc.graphicmanual.ca/ in your documentary. Reach out to them, work with them please, etc.
This is such a wonderful idea/campaign. So proud to be a backer.
What are the odds you would consider putting together a book with some of the material you have gathered and created? That's another project I would back in a heartbeat!
@Chris Off to an amazing start indeed! Thank you so much for your support!
@Craig We agree! Endless thanks for all your support :)
@Kevin Exciting right? Still climbing today, thanks for your support!
@Paddy Thank you! And yes, we've got Bruce on our radar for sure!
So excited about this Kickstarter, and it's off to an amazing start!
Such and important project for Canadian Design. I'm privileged and thrilled to be able to lend my support
Almost $20 000 in 1 day!
Great project. Exciting. Don't forget Bruce Mau! :)
