About this project
GERMAN ANGST is an extreme horror film collaboration between JÖRG BUTTGEREIT (Nekromantik, Der Todesking), ANDREAS MARSCHALL (Tears of Kali, Masks) and MICHAL KOSAKOWSKI (Zero Killed) that leads you into the dark alleyways of contemporary Berlin in stories of love, sex and death.
GERMAN ANGST is a horror feature film directed by JÖRG BUTTGEREIT, ANDREAS MARSCHALL and MICHAL KOSAKOWSKI. A German independent anthology that connects three urban nightmare stories in today's Berlin.
The first episode, Jörg Buttgereit's FINAL GIRL, tells the story of a young girl who lives alone with her guinea pig in a rundown apartment in Berlin. But is she really alone? In the bedroom lies a man, bound and gagged...
In the episode ALRAUNE by Andreas Marschall, a young man stumbles upon a secret sex club in Berlin's nightlife that promises the ultimate sexual frontier experience by using a drug made from the roots of the legendary Mandragora plant. But the ecstatic experiences have horrific side effects...
ATTENTION! CENSORED VERSION!
MAKE A WISH by Michal Kosakowski is a disturbing fable in which a deaf-mute couple of Polish origin are attacked by a sadistic hooligan gang. In possession of a powerful amulet, the couple try to turn the tables on their assailants and wreak a terrible revenge, albeit paying a heavy price.
GERMAN ANGST celebrates the return of cult director Jörg Buttgereit after a twenty-year absence from horror filmmaking, while Andreas Marschall continues his exploration of a dark underworld embossed by lust, sex and the psyche and Michal Kosakowski confronts us with violence in all levels of society today, and throws the viewer’s preconceptions back on themselves.
All three directors have won international fans with very diverse films such as Nekromantik, Der Todesking, Tears of Kali, Masks and Zero Killed and invite you now on their transgressive journey towards the horizons of genre film with GERMAN ANGST. We want to make the movie that our fans have been waiting for.
GERMAN ANGST is an independently-produced suspense, shock, extreme horror film with the fascination of the dark in today's Berlin.
If you love the originality of European horror films this project is for you. An extreme film of this kind is excluded from mainstream Hollywood and government funding. It is you who can make a genuine vision of the genre come true.
GERMAN ANGST continues the tradition of the German Expressionist horror film (The Golem, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or Nosferatu) of the 1920s with its own fresh interpretation of the genre. GERMAN ANGST is the German answer to episode films like The Theatre Bizarre with the signature of three idiosyncratic directors.
We are three German filmmakers who share a love for genre films. We’ve been working together on the development and production of the 3 episodes through a constant exchange of ideas and opinions. Three distinctly different styles unite in GERMAN ANGST: Buttgereit's morbid view of everyday life, Marschall's leap into the abyss of dark eroticism and Kosakowski's fusion of politics and horror come together in a dark composition and through this synergy a disturbing picture of the present emerges.
The mainstream envies the horror film scene for its worldwide network of sworn enthusiasts and fans. We want to use crowdfunding to get in touch with you. We need your enthusiasm! Your support makes our extreme visions come to life.

Risks and challenges
We have looked upon all the challenges with making this film happen, it is for sure that the directors will guarantee an extreme horror film which will exceed all expectations, knowing who they are and what their track record shows. The challenge is to cast the film, which due to the three story structure we would need to cast 3 times the amount of actors than in a regular feature film set up. One of the important factors to assure you to receive an official packaged Blu-ray or DVD, is that we have secured a collaboration with US distributor Cult Epics, that once the film is financed you receive your copy before the official release! Also Cult Epics recently signed up Nekromantik, and will donate copies of this film to the ones who make this project happen, considering that out of print copies of Nekromantik go for enormous amount of money on the market currently. Other items will be produced either in Germany or US, which will still need to be figured out, and will be shipped from out US, these rewards are being send out by our professional Amazon seller, thru which the goodies will be send in timely manner. Furthermore to the lucky ones; the original artwork by Andreas Marschall of Nekromantik and Hot Love will be shipped out directly from Germany possible begin next year, and will be signed on the back by Jorg and Andreas. We thank you for your trust in us and our project, which will happen with your support.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
