NEW STRETCH GOAL: $1,300
We're funded!!! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this monumental step for both Super Mega Bob and myself. I've never had an opportunity like this, and I have no intention of letting you down.
But let's not just be content with $1,000 when we can push for $1,300! The goal? To give me a little extra development time to add an awesome new local co-op survival mode to Super Mega Bob!! Think about grabbing a friend and spending anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours blasting away wave upon wave of enemies as you earn powerful upgrades and use amazing weapons to decimate your foes. Let's make it happen!!! $1,300 is very attainable!
Halfway Mark Celebration!!
We're over 50% of the way to our goal of $1,000! That's AWESOME! Let's blast through the 100% mark and then start reaching toward those stretch goals.
In celebration I thought I'd share some new artwork I'm working on! Check out the latest costume designs for Bob, donate if you haven't already, and then TELL YOUR FRIENDS! You can grab a copy of the game for just $5! LET'S DO THIS!
Greetings! I'm so glad you're here at the Super Mega Bob Kickstarter page! If you're wondering what makes Super Mega Bob different from any other ol' 2D SHMUP, why not try it for yourself and find out? You can download the beta for free!
Super Mega Bob is a retro 2D SHMUP influenced by games like Mega Man, The Binding of Isaac, Adventures of Lolo, Diablo III, Jetpack, and Raptor: Call of the Shadows. The game is loaded with original pixel art and beautiful day/night and weather cycles that keep gameplay fresh and colorful.
The idea for Super Mega Bob first originated as a question: "How much can you make happen on one screen?" It quickly took me to the idea of extremely strategically designed levels filled with more enemies than I had ever seen in any 2D SHMUPs myself. What Super Mega Bob is at the moment is a foundation - one that, if built upon, will lead to a 2D SHMUP that is more strategically challenging than almost any other out on the market.
I want to take the game in awesome directions with new biomes and even more art, but I need your help to get it done!
Super Mega Bob has another concept driving its core, too: make an extremely difficult game that is not a rage game. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of popular games on the market that are indeed extremely difficult, but they achieve this only by being frustrating. Invisible spikes, unavoidable traps, nearly impossible to defeat enemies, etc. are all part of the ploy they use to challenge you. SMB isn't that type of game. This is old school hard - a game difficult not because it frustrates you, but because it is challenging you with dozens of enemies at once.
The complete version of Super Mega Bob will have well over 100 upgrades you can unlock or purchase (NOT IAP, you get them with in-game currency) as you play. I've set a solid foundation in the beta version. The complete game will expand on that foundation with increasingly interesting and powerful upgrades.
You can get a DRM-free of the complete game for a pledge of only $5. That's less than you pay for most meals at a fast food resturant. It may not seem like that could do much to you, but for me as a one man indie developer, every single pledge means more than you can imagine! Higher tiers include all sorts of cool digital goodies.
The new "Wild Card" tier allows you to get the game and sountrack for just $9! What's more, the Super Mega Bob soundtrack is royalty free music! So long as you have a purchased copy of the game soundtrack, you are free to reuse the music in film, games, and other creative projects. Grab it while it's hot!

Developing a game costs time and money. Super Mega Bob is no exception to this rule. Any funds you donate will be geared 100% to funding the development of the game, and if the Kickstarter succeeds I promise I will do everything in my power to complete the game no later than October of this year. As a one man developer, that's a promise I can keep!
My name is Daniel Hall. I've been interested in game development since I was eight, and have been actively involved in indie game development for the last five years. I prefer coding in C# and like shooters, RPGs, and adventure games. My favorite game series is Metal Gear Solid, and I'm also a huge fan of Mega Man and the Elder Scrolls. I live in northern Georgia in the United States and am a bonafied country boy.
Risks and challenges
Completing Super Mega Bob is going to take a lot of work. But I'm committed to getting it done! With your funding I'll be able to focus on game development full time this Summer and finish the project!
There aren't many risks, honestly, as I have complete development over the game. For me, the big question is whether or not the Kickstarter will succeed. Help me make this happen!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
