The purpose of this fast campaign is to print an original poster, cast a fleet of matching miniatures, and get them into your hands in time for holiday gift giving. Digital documents and supporting images will also be provided to fully detail the ship and its interior.
Shipping within the US is included. Most international orders add $22.50 (total, not per item). Rewards will be shipped using USPS first class mail from Pittsburgh, USA.
The centerpiece of the campaign is a 24x36 inch, two sided, full color poster featuring complete deckplans for two versions of the Renegade-class corsair. The maps have a 1 inch grid built into the floor and are scaled at approximately 1 inch = 5 feet.
The Renegade class of starships was designed as a multipurpose vessel capable of hauling cargo, moving passengers, exploration, reconnaissance, and light combat duty. As with many such designs the ship is adequate for a variety of roles but excels at none. This ship is meant for independent pilots who want to take on many different types of jobs (on either side of the law). The small crew requirement and ease of maintenance have made the Renegade popular with freelance captains and smugglers on a tight budget. During the war, this class earned a reputation as a capable corsair - able to efficiently engage targets of opportunity and then easily return to normal duties.
On the flip side of the poster is the "Winchester" variant: a military gunship built around a massive, spinal-mounted cannon. This version of the ship gives up cargo space and other amenities in exchange for overwhelming fire power. With barracks instead of comfortable cabins, she carries a crew of twenty. Though the ground vehicle is gone to make room for ammunition, Winchester crowds two shuttles into the bay where the Renegade carries only one. Note that Winchester was created just for this Kickstarter. It appears nowhere else and brand new digital documents will be provided to backers detailing this variant.
The Renegade/Winchester miniature was created as a digital model, 3D printed at the highest resolution, and made into a mold. From that, Trollforged Miniatures spun out the ships using their proprietary resin and professional techniques. The result is a highly detailed miniature ready to paint and play (miniatures are sold unpainted). A hexagonal 1-inch, clear acrylic flight stand is included. Note that, as in the photo above, there may be small imperfections in the surface but these are easily covered by primer or paint.
This ship comes from the inaugural issue of the new Future Armada "Codex" product line, currently for sale at RPGNow & DriveThruRPG. This is the successor to my Future Armada series and includes layered PDF documents with room by room descriptions and generic statistics for the ship. Several additional rendering are included as are huge digital images of the poster - perfect for use online or with a projector.
If you would like to order multiple copies of the poster or miniature, just increase your pledge accordingly. When I send out the surveys at the end of the campaign you can specify what the extra money is for and I'll bundle everything together. Additional Renegade posters are $22 and additional Renegade miniatures are $12, or $30 for a second Poster+Mini set. International orders only pay shipping once (for the original pledge).
If you would like to order posters or miniatures from my previous campaigns, please visit my website ( 0-hr.com ). You can order directly there, or check the prices and then increase your pledge here and let me know the details in the survey at the end of the campaign.
As a thank you to everyone for supporting this campaign, I will create a new rendered image of Renegade or Winchester when we hit $3000, $4000, $5000, etc.. These images will be included with the digital reward files exclusively for backers.
Risks and challenges
I've run half a several successful campaigns just like this one so I am very familiar with the process. The map images, digital documents, and several miniatures are already made; so the only real risk is that the printing process or shipping could be delayed for some reason. I am personally handling the shipping so I can insure that it will be my highest priority once things are ready. It's also possible, though not likely, that my current stockpile of Renegade miniatures could be exhausted. In that case, I will need to make more. Again, I will be doing this myself rather than trusting in a third party and so the delay, if any, will be minimal.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
