Welcome to the first zero hour science fiction settings campaign! This project presents a pair of location-based maps on either side of a 24 x 36 inch poster. The maps are at 1 inch = 5 feet scale and have a 1 inch grid built in – perfect for Starfinder and other science fiction RPGs.
On one side of the poster is Elevated Shuttle Stop 07 – the futuristic equivalent of a bus stop or metro line point with a landing pad high above and waiting area below. This side of the poster also include Sasha's Guest House, which provides studios and suites for rent by the day or week. A convenience store and cybertech boutique fill out the block.
On the other side of the poster is the L7 Bar & Grill, with a large dining room, stage, and balcony area. There are also private rooms, basement storage areas, and a combination garage and office out back. These locations can serve as a base of operations or setting for adventure – providing a rich backdrop for your story that matches the look and feel of my existing starship deckplans.
U.S. Shipping is $6 for all pledge levels.
International shipping is $15 for one poster and $24 for two ($10 and $16 for Canada). Rewards will be shipped using USPS first class mail from Pittsburgh.
Two copies of the poster can be laid out side by side or end to end to present a larger continuous space. Future maps will expand on this urban area and provide new locations in a variety of terrains. Posters are shipped rolled in a sturdy tube. Note that they are not laminated.
A supporting digital document will include room by room descriptions, a general overview of the locations, and a sample shuttle to cut out and land on the pad. Large digital images of the poster will also be provided.
There are many differences between this campaign and my many starship-based projects. This one does not include miniatures of any sort. The digital document is a small supplement rather than a complete, stand-alone product (for example, it does not contain the map broken into printable pages). I also do not want to include add-ons with this one as the goal is to have a fast and simple campaign. If all goes well, this will be the first of many setting based maps – though the starship projects will continue as well. Thank you for taking the time to look this over. I hope that these maps can help bring your campaign to life!
Risks and challenges
I've run several successful campaigns very similar to this one so I am very familiar with the process. The map images are already made; so the only real risk is that the printing process or shipping could be delayed for some reason. I am personally handling the shipping so I can insure that it will be my highest priority once things are ready. Because this is my first “location based” project, I cannot accurately predict how many posters I will need – meaning that I may have to wait until well into the campaign to place the print order. This means the turn around time a the end of the campaign may be a week or two longer than normal. I still expect to have everything shipped within 3 weeks of the end of the campaign at the latest.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
