About

The goal of this 20-day campaign is to print a pair of original posters, cast a fleet of matching miniatures, and get them into your hands within a month. Digital documents and supporting images will also be provided to fully detail the ship and its interior.

This campaign presents the Kagekumo (“Shadowspider”) class salvage ship. Though designed for commercial use, this industrial ship has become a favorite of pirates and reavers. The large vessel is designed to secure and dismantle derelicts, or soon-to-be-derelicts, quickly and efficiently.  She is equipped with massive harpoons fore and aft to capture or tow disabled prey, plus fold-out scaffolding studded with tractor beams and cutting lasers.  A cadre of salvage drones can assist with disassembly or help bring down stubborn targets.

The Mukade (“Centipede”) variant lacks the  ventral scaffolds and is another popular option. The maps and miniature can be used for either version. The documents will also detail  the Kemushi (“Caterpillar”) variant, which lacks both scaffolds and drones - making it a simple bulk freighter.

U.S. shipping is $5 for the miniature pledge level and $7 for the higher levels.

International shipping is $16 for the miniature pledge level ($12 for Canada) and $26 for the higher levels ($19 for Canada). Rewards will be shipped using USPS first class mail from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The deckplans are provided on full color, 24x36 inch posters. They are drawn to a 1 inch equals 5 ft scale and have a 1 inch grid built into the floor – perfect for Starfinder and d20 RPGs.  All posters are printed on 120 lb gloss paper (not laminated) and are shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.

Due to its size, Kagekumo fills up both sides of TWO posters and they are sold as a set. The first poster displays the forward half of the ship, with the upper decks on the front and the cargo hold on the back. The second poster shows the aft half of the ship, again with the upper decks on the front and lower decks on the back. This layout makes it possible to display the complete upper decks at once, or the complete hold (floor and catwalks) at once.  To see the entire ship (all decks) at the same time would require two copies of each poster - or four posters total.

The miniature comes in three pieces: the main hull, plus left and right scaffolds that attach to the bottom of the hull. With the scaffolding in place, the miniature represents the Kagekumo-class. Without the scaffolding, the miniature represents the Mukade variant. Though the scaffold pegs might  fit well enough to stay loosely in place, the pieces are designed with permanent gluing in mind.

The miniature is cast resin, 76 mm (3 inches) long and unpainted. A hexagonal 1-inch, clear acrylic flight stand is included.

These ships are drawn from an upcoming issue of the "0-hr Armada Codex", soon to be for sale at  DriveThruRPG. This product includes layered PDF documents with room by room descriptions and generic stat blocks for the ship, as well as color and black-and-white map pages. Additional renderings are included as are huge digital images of the poster for use online or with a projector. Starfinder stat sheets will also be provided for free online.

If you would like to add additional items to your pledge, manually increase your pledge amount accordingly. When I send out the surveys at the end of the campaign I will ask what any extra money is for and you will be able to specify your additional items.  Then I'll bundle everything together and send it out at the same time.

Prices for Kagemumo items are as listed for the various pledge levels here. If you would like to order posters or miniatures from my previous campaigns, please visit my website ( 0-hr.com ) to check prices. Total U.S. shipping for pledges with add-ons will be $7 ($19 Canada, $26 elsewhere).

In gratitude to everyone for supporting this campaign, I will create at least one new rendered image when hit $4000, $5000, $6000, etc.. These images will be included with the digital reward files exclusively for backers. But whether you back or not, I thank you for taking the time to consider this project. Please spread the word if you know anyone who might be interested!

Risks and challenges

I've run several successful campaigns just like this one so I am very familiar with the process. The map images and miniatures are already complete; so the only real risk is that the printing process could be delayed for some reason. I am personally handling the shipping so I can ensure that it will be my highest priority once things are ready. It's also possible, though not likely, that my initial order of miniatures or posters could prove insufficient. In that case I would need to order more, which could delay some deliveries by 2 to 3 weeks.
