Start small. Create 100 for the new year.
What is Make 100?
Make 100 is an open call encouraging you to share a creative idea as a limited run of 100. Since 2017, over 1,000 creators have taken part, launching campaigns for everything from 100 palm tree paintings to 100 plates of nachos.
While the official launch window for Make 100 projects has closed, you’re still welcome to launch a Make 100-inspired project—simply include a limited-edition reward capped at 100 backers.
"I didn’t realize that there could be a community out there for me, of wonderful people who genuinely want to support what I do."
—Two-time Make 100 creator Alex Hubbell
Questions and answers
Instead of one reward capped at 100 backers, can I offer various rewards that add up to 100, total?
Yes. Your Make 100 project can feature one limited reward tier capped at 100 backers, or have multiple limited reward tiers that add up to 100 backers. Keep in mind that your project must also launch between January 1 and January 31 and follow Kickstarter’s rules in order to be part of Make 100.
Can I modify my existing or planned campaign to make it fit within Make 100?
While it’s possible to add a reward tier capped at 100 backers to any live Kickstarter project, Make 100 is aimed at inspiring creators to get started on something new. If you’ve already planned something specific, we don’t recommend modifying it just to take part in Make 100.
Should I set my funding goal based on getting 100 backers?
Not necessarily. While we encourage you to aim for 100 backers, you should set your funding goal based on the actual cost of making and shipping your rewards and running your project.
How long can my project last?
Your Make 100 project can be live for up to 60 days. Most projects on Kickstarter last about 30 days. Just be sure your project goes live between January 1 and January 31.
Do I need an invitation to participate?
You don’t need an invitation to participate in Make 100. If your project meets the above requirements, just add Make 100 to your project title or description. Like all projects on Kickstarter, your project will be subject to standard review processes before launch, which can take up to three business days. Our team will also assess your project to ensure it’s a fit for Make 100, and to ensure it's something we can feature.
Why should I launch my Make 100 project between January 1 and January 31?
Only projects that launch during this window will be included as part of the official Make 100 initiative. Our team will be focused on running and promoting the initiative through January and February.
If I’m launching a project that starts before January 1 or after January 31, can it still be part of Make 100?
No. All Make 100 projects must go live between January 1 and January 31. As long as your project launches during that window, it can last any duration (up to 60 days) that you like.
How will Make 100 projects be promoted?
All qualified Make 100 projects will be featured on Kickstarter.com via the Make 100 tag and in a dedicated project collection. Select projects will be featured in Kickstarter newsletters and on social media. Learn more about how we pick which projects to feature.
