Hello sweet supporters
In case you hadn't noticed, "Ivy and the Wicker Suitcase" is fully funded! HOLY COW!!
This is a bizarre miracle of modern microfinance, and we're sitting plum in the middle of it!! I have friends with successful bands who see what all of you have accomplished with/ for us, and they are stunned and inspired!
I've never spent so much love and effort on a project of my own, and to see the support you have given us... It is just overwhelming.
We have 16 days left on this wonderful fundraiser, and anything that goes beyond our goal will simply allow us to finish the project well. The biggest money outlay that we know we will have is the art scanning and layout, and the mastering, both of which are much more complex than in a traditional, non ear-movie-musical format. It's very possible that we will spend as much as $4,000 just completing these aspects of the project. And, just to be specific, Amazon and Kickstarter take a (well deserved) cut of about 10% of the total, and that's before the tax-man's bite.
We are humbled and grateful for the success of our kickstarter, and anything beyond our original goal will go towards finishing, and any other related endeavors that will help promote the musical, such as videos or tour support. (Our van is in the shop, for example....Rack and pinion steering and catalytic converter... ughhh....) And once again, if we do VERY well, we could possibly release it ourselves...
so, the word for the day is THANKS!!!!!

Still hard at work on this issue of Doctor Who, but I've just posted the assembled sample chapters for NIGHT FOLK.
If you'd like to read them, click HERE. (No sign-in required)
And just a reminder that I'll be at the Albany Comic Con this Sunday, signing comics and talking up the NIGHT FOLK Kickstarter campaign. If you're in the area, stop on by and say hello.
(UPDATE: Thanks to Nancy Tippy for spotting a duplicated section in the sample chapters I posted this morning. We fixed it and posted a revised version. The link above and the one on the project home page now take you to the corrected version. Thanks, Nancy!)
humiliation is persuasive...on
I have agreed to do a remake of Ke$ha's Tik Tok video if we hit our goal.... as closely represented as possible. I will wear the outfits... I will get fans to help... I will generally make an ass of myself.... Incentive to help us out?
Hello everyone. Sorry we haven't posted many updates in awhile, we've been very busy making a film! We are done with the production phase of the film, and we're currently slicing and dicing the film into post production. To show some progress I've posted a trailer on vimeo. Hope you all like it.
PS. Rewards will not be distributed till the film is complete. many of the rewards involve the films completion (ex. DVDs, VIP screenings, etc)
Thanks for the continued support
happy friday, y'all!on
A hearty thanks to everyone for the words and pledges of support.
two weeks in and we are nearly 20% of the way there. A big thanks to Mish at msnbc for pushing it out there- and to retronaut, buzzfeed, refinery 29, fader, donewaiting, and all the other sites that have done so much to spread the word about this project.
We got some great writing in this week, and more is on the way. I have a price quote for printing being drawn up by a top printer. It's really important to me that this book get printed right and a designer friend who works for the best photo publishers gave me a connection to a great printer. I've also started to really work on the scans to get rid of dust etc... Once we reach the goal I hope to start getting the books printed right away.
Have a great weekend.
Hot off the press in the monster lab we have a Velociraptor. It is not ripping apart the place yet, nor has it figured out how to work door handles *breathing* *breathing* *breathing.*
We are making a T-Rex next just in case.
We have 24 hours left to go on the kickstarter project!
If you are on the fine establishment of the internet named Reddit please upvote and make some velociraptor jokes here: http://bit.ly/redditmonster

We will be randomly selecting individuals from our Backers for an interview on our blog. We'll ask you a little about who you are, why you chose to pledge and allow you to talk about a project of your own!
Check out our first one: Laura Robinson!
So donate and spread the word and you could be the next Pledge of the Day!
