Watching Projects Come to Life

It is a thrilling and unexpected delight to stumble upon a Kickstarter project in the real world. Whether it be something very subtle (a movie poster vying for space on a crowded corkboard at my local coffee shop) or very not (a creator overhearing me at a bar and interjecting with an exuberant story of success), it is always a little dizzying to see Kickstarter projects emerge as tangible entities. Below are a handful of recently successful Kickstarter projects that have crossed that final mile. Check them out, and make sure to browse our new Follow feed. You’ll find many more like them!
After an unbelievable funding cycle, Coming & Crying is coming to life! The girls behind the project just posted this very cool looking cover of the completed book. I can almost catch a whiff of that new book smell!
Justin from the Video Game Posters project recently announced that reward shipment has begun. Seeing the stacks of beautifully printed posters waiting to go out — and knowing how excited backers will be to receive them — almost gives me goosebumps! (Yes, I know…nerd.)
Todd Chandler’s film Flood Tide — which we screened a clip from at our Film Festival — premiered earlier this month at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens. Over 1,200 braved the sticky summer heat to watch. His photo recap of the event is fairly stunning.
5 Year Plan is a collection of 32 art-pieces by 32 different artists, all printed onto hand-loom cotton and bound into fabric books. They recently posted these amazing shots of the finished product — even more impressive than I could have imagined!
