New Feature: The Backer Info Card

One of the most frequently requested features we get from project creators is the ability to see more information about backers from anywhere on their project page.

Today we're excited to announce a new feature that does exactly that: the backer info card. This feature gives project creators a snapshot of who backers are directly from where they need it most — the Backers tab, the Comments tab, and in Project Update comments.

On each of those pages, creators can now see a "Backer info" button next to each backer's name. Clicking it reveals how much the backer pledged, when their pledge was made, which reward they selected, and any notes the creator has made about them. (Don't worry — this is only viewable by logged-in project creators, and only on their own projects.)

Hello, new Backer info card!
Hello, new Backer info card!

After a successfully funded project has sent surveys, backer responses are also viewable in the panel:

Everything about your backers in one convenient panel — hooray!
Everything about your backers in one convenient panel — hooray!

The panel also provides a quick shortcut for sending a message to a backer or leaving a note about them in the Backer Report. No need to bounce back and forth.

Less clicks = awesome.

We hope the backer info card will help creators keep in touch with backers and keep track of their work. Thanks as always for your feedback and for using Kickstarter!

As a frequent backer I'd say it'd be good to also include info about how many they have backed in the past too. Would be good to know that someone is an experienced patron versus new to the platform imo.

Ryan: nice suggestion. Something liked: "Backed 59 Kickstarters so far." etc.

I will third Ryan's suggestion to inform the project creator of a backer's longevity with the project and number of projects backed.

It'd be great to see Amazon Transaction ID here as well. Or at least Amazon Payments name.

Also, it'd be nice to see the private message history here.

Any timeline on being able to search through private messages?

Very much appreciated! But that still leaves us without the much needed backer search feature.

When someone emails me outside of KS with a question about their order, it's very tough to click through each package to find them. Could you please also add a backer quick search in the dashboard or backer report main page?

I agree with Ryan. Moreover, I believe experience patrons should have access to special rewards at some point or get some free credit to invest on projects.

yep, what ryan and all the others said. maybe "has backed X successful projects, Y unsuccessful"

Gaston, Just "backed X" would be enough. Doesn't really matter how many were successful or not(?)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Note that creators can already see how many projects each backer has backed on the backer page, or by clicking through to their profile. We'll think more about where else that info could be useful. Thanks!

Great new feature Kickstarter! I'm new here, and I'm really liking my experience so far.

I'd like to see if backers are prone to backing projects ... then backing out. Is that a problem in general? Something to be concerned about?
