Love at First Sight

We love seeing projects come to life, and our Activity Feed is the perfect window through which to watch it happen. Here’s a few recent gems culled from the stream — great first glimpses at projects on the verge of becoming reality — but make sure to head on over sometime and check out what other cool stuff is happening in our community!
Colleen, a painter who meticulously crafts her work from thousands of hand-cut canvas pieces, has been keeping us on our toes with frequent updates previewing her finished pieces. Her most recent post is one of my favorites, full of breath-taking color and a dizzying variety of scenery. I love it!
The Wonder City, a graphic novel which reimagines the history of New York City, has been unleashing a steady stream of pages-in-progress to their backers. I love the special details noted on their latest:
“[This is] Velma doing some research in her swank office. For all you history nerds, take note of the Castello Plan map (c.1660) on her wall in the first panel. Courtney’s attention to detail is amazing.”
Over the last year, indie artist Vance Reeser has been hard at work on his cartoon short film Lake Beast. Luckily, he keeps his backers appetites for animation satiated with some pretty cool sneak peeks at the finished work — like these recently posted, and totally awesome, animated GIFs.
Brooklyn-based painter Randall Stoltzfus is putting on a show at a scrappy, Georgian fire house that has been converted into an art gallery, and he offered a cleverly composed mini-booklet of the 11 paintings he plans to place in the exhibit as a reward to backers.
Sounds good in theory, but what does something like that look like? An initial proof he recently previewed answers the question pretty effectively: it looks good.
