What's The Book About?
Archaeologist Chet and his wife Lisa venture into an ancient Egyptian tomb where they find magical pajama pants once owned by the Egyptian Sun God Aton. This discovery sends them, along with the spirit guide (a scorpion with a drink umbrella tied to its tail), on a journey around the world to collect all the Nightwear of The Gods. That is, of course, assuming they can get past the army of evil babies in footy-pajamas that guard each item. Only with the power of The Nightwear does Chet have a hope to defeat The One True Evil!
Who Makes This Thing?
Operation Pajama Pants is written by Cory Harris and drawn by Ziggy Blumenthal. Ziggy is from New Jersey and Cory keeps moving to different states, so who knows where the hell he is right now.
Ziggy and Cory have been traveling the convention scene for many years, peddling their wares everywhere from cons in New York and Baltimore all the way to Dallas and Seattle.
Ziggy is also the writer and artist of webcomic Chris Wnuk: Secret Jew.
Is Anyone I've Ever Heard Of Involved In This Thing?
YES! Well, maybe. I can't be sure who you particularly have heard of, but there are people involved that people have heard of.
The cover of the book is by AMANDA CONNER. That alone is worth the price of admission in my book, but hey, that's just me. On top of that, we've got a bunch of great artists that you may know from various things including CHAD THOMAS, KRISTIAN DONALDSON, NEIL VOKES, BRIAN QUINN, ROB REILLY and JAMIE FAY all doing chapter break illustrations.
Where's The Money Going?
The money goes to two main things. Paying our colorist and getting the book printed.
We've got a great colorist, Nick Filardi, coloring the whole book. Nick colors all sorts of things for all the top companies and we're super psyched he's making time in his schedule for this. He's definitely worth more than we're paying him. But we're cheapskates, so thems the breaks.
And the rest of the money goes to the printing costs of making a hardcover book. It's a lot.
Oh, and on the subject of money, International backers please add an extra 5 bucks for shipping. That'll really help, thanks.
What About Extra Money?
Any extra money we raise beyond the 8k will go to... well... also the printing. The 8k goal doesn't actually cover the costs completely (oooh…nice alliteration there!), but it does cover enough that we can handle the rest if we have to. But still, it would help greatly to have that money, so if you're reading this and we've reached the goal already, please feel free to donate still.
Anything Else We Should Know?
Just that the book is a lot of fun and we think you'll really enjoy reading it. I mean, everyone loves pajamas, right?
...Right?
And if you hate pajamas, lots of (evil) toddlers get punched in their stupid (evil) faces. Cathartic!
