Why should you donate to Mama’s Boy?

Mama’s Boy is a unique student film in terms of scale, social value, and personal significance. Because of the unique story, it was necessary for the film to take place during the 1930s, which makes our job a bit harder. Luckily, we have an awesome crew and a fabulous Production Designer that is helping us give the piece the feel of a 1930s baseball movie at a fraction of the cost. Still, that fraction is more than we have, and we need all the help we can get!

         The script is unique in that it centers on a black baseball player in a time when blacks were considered to be subhuman. However, the film is a multi-dimensional piece about friendship and loyalty and the cost of trying to be the first person to cross a racial boundary.

         This is the part where we beg for money. Literally every dollar helps at this point. This film is personal to everyone involved and we believe it could truly be great if we are able to show it in the way that we intend. In order to do this, we need money that will go straight to the uniforms, the camera, and the cost of renting the baseball field.
