What exactly is PostAbout.me?

PostAbout.me is an online, social tag cloud.  Your online profile with PostAbout.me allows your friends to post on your wall anonymously, "tagging" you with words they associate you with.  Your profile will simply be a photo of you with your tags displayed below.  Once your profile is created, your friends can search for you, and post tags on your page.  Each time somebody posts a tag that has already been posted, it grows.

PostAbout.me is easy way to create an online profile, that is written by your friends, communities or social networks.

How does a tag cloud work?

A tag cloud is a collage of descriptive words.  Words that are larger in the cloud are more popular words, signifying that they have been typed in several times by friends.  Conversely, words that appear small have been posted only a small number of times.

Why are we building it?

Tags are used on the internet in many different places.  They are used in YouTube videos, blog posts, social bookmarking, Facebook, etc.  We want to make the concept of "tags" a more social part of the internet.  By allowing friends, family, and online communities to tag PEOPLE instead of just videos, blogs, and articles, we can create a new and interesting type of online social profile.
