About this project

Hello Friends! We're Yestadt Millinery, a New York City based hat company seeking to modernize headwear and resuscitate the Millinery industry. All of our pieces are a mix of old world craftsmanship and contemporary style. We work with local vendors and our production is in the heart of New York City's historic fashion district.

By partnering our craft with top designers and artists, we are pushing this movement forward to bring millinery to a relevant, creative place in the industry. We have been fortunate to be surrounded by incredibly talented and inspiring friends - photographers, filmmakers, stylists, models and artists - who have been instrumental in helping us stay competitive despite being such a small company. These collaborations have allowed us to create a thriving wholesale business with unique custom projects.

We recently applied and were accepted to participate in the exclusive NY accessories show, Designers and Agents! This market showcases some of the most innovative fashion and supports a creative community of independent young designers. After reviewing our new samples and checking over our resume – we decided it was time to join the big leagues and present our collection to the international fashion market. The Designers and Agents show is scheduled alongside New York fashion week. So this is a perfectly timed platform to sell our newest creations after just presenting the collection to the fashion industry.

In order to compete in this international arena we need your help! Funds raised through Kickstarter will go directly to funding our participation in the show and indirectly to the support of NY culture and economy. This will mean some major improvements to our business; supporting a larger staff, being able to buy more materials and producing larger production runs. Our company thrives on the energy of NYC and we are committed to being a part of its business infrastructure.

We love what we do – and that love is communicated directly in our product. We are honored to be part of this show in New York, and excited about the growth this means for our business. Thank you for your support, see you at the show!
