Update #6: We did it!

Posted on July 4, 2011

Dear Backers,

Last week, your donations topped $10,000 and pushed our Kickstarter campaign over its fundraising target! Yay!

For the US Uncut Yes Lab team, though, the work is just beginning. Emboldened by your donations and the many voices that have come out against offshore tax havens and loopholes, we are hard at work pulling together all the know-how, resources and (of course!) comedy needed to make this action explode within the next few months.

Thanks again for your awesome generosity, and Happy 4th of July!

Justin W.

Update #5: 60 Hours to Take on Tax Cheats!

Posted on June 28, 2011
Dear Backers,

We're in the final stretch of our campaign, but we need all hands on deck to make it to the finish line! Almost 100 of you have endorsed the project, and your generosity has inspired us to fight hard against the lobbying plots in Washington that enable these pesky corporate tax dodgers. Will you tell a friend about the project by forwarding this message to them? You can always check up on the progress of the project at:

Thanks for all your help!

Update #4: Sharing is Caring, Sailors!

Posted on June 22, 2011

Dear Backers,

The crew of the USS Uncut thanks you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us make this project a reality!

We are entering the last week of our campaign, and the heat isn't just on for the fundraising: in Washington, powerful lobbyists are pushing for another tax repatriation holiday which would obliterate our chances of quelling the high seas of the offshore tax havens.

We need your help to spread the word about our project, so we're going to spice it up by adding another pair of prizes into the mix: two original US Uncut Sailor Caps (see below) to two randomly-selected Backers who share the project on Facebook and on Twitter

Thanks so much for your support!

Update #3: Thank you, backers!

Posted on June 17, 2011

We want to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for pitching in towards the US Uncut Yes Lab 'Bring the Money Home' project. Your donations, big and small, are helping us build this project into a reality!

On our end, we are working day and night to get the word out about offshore tax havens, in often creative and funny ways. So here's a little video of a recent action we did to tell New Yorkers about tropical Wall Street tax havens.

Hope you like it!

Update #2: We've hit 1K!

Posted on June 14, 2011

Dear backers,

We're so excited that, 4 days into our kickstarter project, you have helped us raise over $1000! That is:

  • Twice the distance (in miles) from Miami to Grand Cayman
  • The (approx.) number of creative tax accountants that work at GE
  • 1/10 of our goal to launch our citizens tax holiday journey!

As we thank you for your support, we're excited about ramping up our outreach and spreading the word about corporate offshore tax avoidance. We've recently published a Citizens Tax Cruise Brochure, and you can get your hands on a free glossy version by visiting us at NYC City Hall tomorrow (Wednesday) where we'll be performing some tropical street theater - 2-5pm.

We want to again thank you so much for helping us literally kickstart this dream of ours!

Peace, love and shared success and sacrifice,

Justin W.
