About this project
"When living with the past becomes too painful...it's nice to know there are options."
HorrorCon is a very different kind of genre film, filled with rich characterization and fresh story elements. In it, a young, female vendor attends a horror convention while suffering the painful, lingering repercussions of a terrible, personal tragedy where she was beaten and raped, and her boyfriend was murdered. Addicted to pain pills and battling both mental and physical torment, she can barely endure returning to a place that strains her once joyous memories through a filter of loneliness, heartache and pain. Soon, she's pursued by a mysterious, celebrity author who happens to collect vials of blood for autographs and who may be able to offer her one, final chance at a future...but one that could mean changing everything she knows about being alive.
It's an odd love story of sorts with a heart of darkness, and some of the scenes will be shot at an actual horror convention(s), utilizing the kind of chaotic and colorful set atmosphere I could only dream of affording. With some limited participation from those in attendance, the goal is to create a gripping tale of pain and redemption with a "reality" like tone that will contrast poignantly against the darker, more artful tone of the intimate hotel room and hallway scenes. The production relies less on special effects and more on plot, character development and actor performances. Thankfully, I've assembled a remarkable and memorable cast of supremely talented actors that are also terrific people.
Once completed, HorrorCon will be submitted to festivals and marketed for distribution. Hopefully, a successful run will see both the cast and crew attending horror festivals all around the country. It would be tremendous to meet all those who were kind enough to pledge, so hopefully all will follow the production developments and keep in contact with me through the movie website/blog: www.horrorCon-the-movie.com.

I'm a born-and-raised Jersey boy, having grown up in the woods at the southern tip of the state with little to amuse me but my own fertile imagination. I eventually graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University where I majored in television and film writing and minored in English with a concentration on Elizabethan drama. I then entered the family marketing business and wrote a ton of industrial scripts and produced a number of videos and commercials. In this time, I learned a great deal about people, relationships, and the importance of an office that overlooks a low roof: happiness is often a handy escape route.
After moving around the country a bit––most notably to Los Angeles and Philadelphia––I moved to the Jersey shore where they roll up the sidewalks in winter, leaving me once again to exercise my imagination through writing, music and filmmaking. I also perform “high energy modern rock” with my band, Surrounded by Idiots, and do a solo acoustic show in and around the Jersey shore area.
