Update #10: Yard Dogs - movie update - from the woodshed
Hello Yard Dogs backers
It's been awhile. We've been hiding in the woodshed making the Yard Dogs movie. It's been a massive undertaking. We're happy to report that progress is being made. We're into our second rough cut, which we hope to have done in a month (or so).
There are endless stories from the last 15 years. It hasn't been easy deciding which ones to tell. Right now we're looking at how we've grown together (and apart) as a family. It's been a beautiful and demanding experience, to say the least. It seems these inner workings are where the heart of the story is. We just need bring it out. If all goes well we'll have the story we want in 3 or 4 months.
We just wanted to let you know that we're working on it everyday with the intention of bringing you the best movie possible.
And in case you were wondering about the show:
We've put all of our touring on hold. Being home is good right now, for the movie and for our personal lives. The road is a magical place and we miss it. But there are other loves that also need tending. And now seems like the right time to do it.
We'll have more project updates for you as we move forward. We're in deep right now. We should have a much better idea of where we stand once we're through the second rough cut and we've had a chance to step back and see what we've done.
Stay tuned…

Update #9: One last thank you and rewards too...
Hello Yard Dog backers...
It's very official!
The first part of this journey has come to an end.
Our Kickstarter campaign successfully raised $27,059!
Thank you (again) for believing in us and in this project.
Now it's time to woodshed - to review (in video and film) 15 years of madcap creativity. Through the process of making this movie there's a good chance we'll rediscover the colorful sparks that triggered this curious road trip. And hopefully stumble on some new inspiration along the way.
We promise to send updates from the road.
Stay tuned, we'll be contacting you next week to start the process of fulfilling the rewards.

Update #8: Over the moon!
We did it!
Maggie Dixon put it well:
"I love how you managed to raise the funds without any backer giving more than $1000. That makes it a truly community piece. A grass-roots endeavor. It may just be the summer heats talking but I feel the heat of your success."
Each one of you are part of making this art happen and we adore you!
Thank you!
More to come...

YDRS is a full spectrum entertainment experience that ignites the senses of sound, sight, and soul. This world traveling, self described “hobo cabaret” fuses the classical influences of vaudeville with the modern hard-driving pulse of rock and roll. The show’s dynamic thirteen member cast combines their unique talents of burlesque, sword swallowing, musical magic and more to create a fantasy fulfilling performance.
YDRS is a conceptually leaderless family of friends who love to travel and perform together, creating their own reality in a mad mix of compromise and mutual support.
Hailed as “impressive” (L.A. Times) and “brilliantly choreographed to the beat of a kick-ass band” (High Times), YDRS is more than just a show. The musical circus starts with a parade of high energy colorful characters marching on stage as a corset clad bombshell plays the accordion. Prepare for a cartoon ride through their psychedelic reality as gold-winged goddesses dance, a spaceman soars on guitar and rabbits carry rainbows - all under a confetti filled sky. And this is just the start. Each act is more magnificent than the last building towards a spectacular, awe-inspiring finale of peace and love.
YDRS began in California in 1996 as a traveling jug band. The show’s steady success on the west coast paved the way to tours across the U.S. and Europe. YDRS has performed at several notable festivals such as Glastonbury, Rothbury, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Electric Picnic, San Diego Street Scene and many more. Most recently the YDRS was invited to perform with the international renowned bassist Les Claypool on his Oddity Faire tour. Creative collaborations such as this are the backbone of the YDRS values.
Through their brilliant blend of song, music, magic, and dance they inspire love and joy to people throughout the world. Truly a sensational phenomenon, YDRS is an experience not to be missed.
