YDRS is a full spectrum entertainment experience that ignites the senses of sound, sight, and soul. This world traveling, self described “hobo cabaret” fuses the classical influences of vaudeville with the modern hard-driving pulse of rock and roll. The show’s dynamic thirteen member cast combines their unique talents of burlesque, sword swallowing, musical magic and more to create a fantasy fulfilling performance.
YDRS is a conceptually leaderless family of friends who love to travel and perform together, creating their own reality in a mad mix of compromise and mutual support.
Hailed as “impressive” (L.A. Times) and “brilliantly choreographed to the beat of a kick-ass band” (High Times), YDRS is more than just a show. The musical circus starts with a parade of high energy colorful characters marching on stage as a corset clad bombshell plays the accordion. Prepare for a cartoon ride through their psychedelic reality as gold-winged goddesses dance, a spaceman soars on guitar and rabbits carry rainbows - all under a confetti filled sky. And this is just the start. Each act is more magnificent than the last building towards a spectacular, awe-inspiring finale of peace and love.
YDRS began in California in 1996 as a traveling jug band. The show’s steady success on the west coast paved the way to tours across the U.S. and Europe. YDRS has performed at several notable festivals such as Glastonbury, Rothbury, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Electric Picnic, San Diego Street Scene and many more. Most recently the YDRS was invited to perform with the international renowned bassist Les Claypool on his Oddity Faire tour. Creative collaborations such as this are the backbone of the YDRS values.
Through their brilliant blend of song, music, magic, and dance they inspire love and joy to people throughout the world. Truly a sensational phenomenon, YDRS is an experience not to be missed.
Yowzerz! We need your Art! Keep it Flow'in! We all love you all down here in swamplands of FL. I wanna plug my station PLeEez. Listen to WMNF.org 88.5 Community Radio. We have your music, and your opinion somewhere in our mix! Chekk it Out. Tanx! Trucker John
Makes me want to run away and joing the circus. Your circus!! Looks good so far. Good luck and best wishes.
Congratulations Yard Dogs!!! Much Love and Respect...
I was worried .......... But I'm happy to see you made your goal! And I'm happy to be able to add more "gravy" to the meal. (Come out to the East Coast more often. I've only caught your show live two times in NYC. I'd love to ask you to come to Hartford, but as the Rough Guide to the USA says: "Hartford may very well be the nation's dullest city". Except for me and my friends ;-) Congratulations again!
So happy for you guys (not that I ever had any doubt!) and I can't wait to see the finished creation! I would LOVE to see footage from those early shows at Xenodrome when I first fell in love with you guys! Sending love...Jen
Right on... I'm lovin the last minute comments and support. Thank you all soo much. Yes indeed Maggie, a grass roots endeavor. Brian I have already used some of your footage, thanks for making yourself available like that. Big thAnks to everyone and all. We did it together. On to the next phase.
Came to check status and watched it go over the goal a few minutes ago. Hallelujah! Well deserved and now on the Yard Dog Road to fruition.
I love how you managed to raise the funds without any backer giving more than $1,000. That makes it truly a community piece. A grass-roots endeavor. It may just be the summer temps talking but I feel the heat of your success.
We did it ! Love form Humboldt !
so close, you guys are totally going to make it! the reminder emails and facebook posts were critical in getting me to remember to do this, can't wait to see the results!
ps - come back to dc/baltimore please :)
Love from the Dirty D
Trading the tote bag and another $25 for the pretty keyhole necklace. Woo!
(To be fair to the matching backer, only the extra $25 was pledged today.)
Caught both shows at Floyd Fest and was blown away. They made my FF experience a great one. It was nice having a tree to lean against right in front of the stage at the beer garden. Ha. Anyway, good luck. Can't wait to see the completed project. Long live the Yard Dogs!
I've been privileged to have been able to help in the documentation process at a few shows in Seattle, also in Olympia and Eugene with my own and Fletcher's camera. All the best!!! I look forward to seeing this project hitting the masses like a cream pie in the face! ;)
I CAN HARDLY WAIT!
~<3~
From Nashville with love...Good luck and God bless the Yard Dogs.

Hello George
I have to say this is one of the most endearing messages we've had in years. We wish you could be at FloydFest with us this year too!
Let's take a rain check for another show further down the road, guaranteed...
Thank you for your generous contribution and for supporting this project from afar.
I really think we're going to do this!
Zebu, Flecher and the Yard Dogs
Stuck here in Iraq wishing I was able to see you guys again at Floyd Fest...killer show last time (ok so perhaps being in Iraq, killer probably isn't the right term). Anyway, love you guys and wish they'd end this Dam.... uh....damaging war and let us go home so we can catch you at the next show. Pledged about what I'd spend in wine and beer at the fest...ok so a bit more...but heck it's not like I can catch a show here. Anyway, people support your troops and PLEDGE to the project!!
I'm on the YDRS mailing list, and that's how I heard about it.

Heard about it through Facebook. Good luck in the final pull! Smooches to you all! -Joselynn
I felt yer groovy vibes telepathically reachin' out to me, specifically, fer help while I was shroomin', maaaan....like....wowww......
(and I "liked" you on FB, so I got a notice about the Kickfarter thing.)
Heard about it from YDRS Twitter and the YDRS mailing list. I'm a Chicago YDRS evangelist for sure since I saw a show a few years back at Martyr's. Now I go every time yer in town. Would LOVE to see this project happen.
I wish I could have given more! I want the cornbread! :D

I'll spread the news to friends far and wide while I cross my fingers and hope you'll come back to Baltimore soon!
So excited to see the outcome of this!
Thank you Cortt/Shalene and Dave. We're inspired 'cause you're inspired! You're support is greatly appreciated on all fronts. See you in Lawrence or Florida or ? ...
Good luck YDRS! <3 Shalene and Cortt
We first saw Yard Dogs at Langerado in 2007 (or 2008) and you absolutely made our night. Was not feeling a headlining act, so wandered back towards your stage and all of my friends thanked me for our fateful change in plans. Also caught you in Lawrence KS last year! Couldn't say no to this, I am a huge fan and love you guys.
Good luck with the film. It should be one hell of a hoe down throw down!
Flying Monkey! Talk about back to the roots for YDRS. Those were the best shows ever. Hopefully we'll make it back that way...
How could I pass up the opportunity to support this project? We at the Flying Monkey have always loved when you made it to Huntsville! Hopefully, one day you can make it back again - you won't believe the way the place has changed. Love you guys! Can't wait to see the dvd!
I've been a fan for about 5 years, and I will gladly kick-in to have you continue to show me what the landscape of my mind looks like.
We first saw the Yard Dogs R.S. at Wakarusa and are full on fan-atics. Enjoyed them a second time in Lawrence KS last year and can't wait until they roll into Oklahoma City so we don't have to travel to wallow in the fun.
you guys are amazing. best of luck with the project!
