Halfway point and 145% funded!
16 days in with 16 days to go and the project has been successfully funded! We are pleasantly surprised and very excited to get the sets completed. The metal stamp artwork has been finalized for the upgraded Spanish cedar play boxes, and graphic layout of the rulebook is currently being completed.
We would like to thank everyone who has pledged to make this a successful project! The only thing we would ask now is for supporters to share the project with friends, fellow game players and colleagues who might have an interest in the game of Rithmomachia! The more folks playing the game, the more potential opponents for us all in the great battle of numbers. Thanks again and stay tuned for more updates as we bring the project to completion and begin shipping!

Question: are the pieces single- or double-sided? Some of the variants of the game (Fulke, at least) call for capturing enemy men and then re-entering them as your own -- this isn't too relevant for most gameplay, but seems pretty useful for the Major Victories. (Since it's very hard to set up, eg, the harmonic sequences to begin with, and having more options helps.)
Not a killer -- it's not as if I've actually ever played all the way through to the Major Victories myself -- but I built my personal set double-sided for this reason. And I've taught most of my friends the game that way, so I want to make sure I set expectations appropriately as I publicize this Kickstarter offer...

Thank you, so each playing piece is roughly 1/2" square?

hi william, the books have not yet been printed, so i cannot show you the inside of them. we are currently finalizing the typeface and graphics placement. i will post another update in the coming weeks when the book returns from the printers. the finished box will be about 11"x6", with a playable field of 10"x5" - if you want to draw up an 8x16 grid on a sheet of standard typing paper you can get a better feel for the size of the board. alternatively, the game can be played on two chess boards joined together.
