About this project

Police departments across the globe have been using the camera to document crime scenes for decades. From murders, shootings, and everything in between, photos can be a valuable resource in solving a crime. But what happens when they come across an event that is just plain unexplainable? Well that's what this project is all about!
DESCRIPTION

This is a still photo project of a fictional police investigation circa 1929 - with a twist. We'll be setting up numerous fictional scenes involving actors, period clothing & locations, props - all while following a fictional paranormal story line. These photos will then be placed on a custom website where viewers can experience the story, view the photographs and get creeped out. Scary!

Now these won't just be regular old police photos - like I mentioned earlier, they are going to have a paranormal & freaky twist. Think aliens, ghosts, zombies etc. I don't want to give away much of the storyline because that would take away the mystery of it all, but it's going to be out there!

Having all of these costumes, props and actors at our disposal, it only makes sense that we produce a short video as well! Might as well utilize all we have during this project, eh? Although the photo shoot is the main purpose of this project, we will be making a series of live action short videos about every police scene that we set up. These videos will then be posted on the project website congruent to each case. Sound complicated? It is. But it will be fun!

WHAT YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED TOWARDS

I'll just make a list of things that we'll need in order to make this happen. Here she goes!
1. Camera equipment.
I'll need to rent a high-end camera package, lenses, lighting etc. for at least a week.

2. Costumes
I'll be renting and maybe even buying a lot of costumes for this. Police uniforms, period business suits, farm wear etc.

3. Props
As funny as it sounds, police accessories aren't included in costume rental! We'll need prop guns, badges, household items, set decoration etc. A lot of sh**!! Included in this would also be picture car rentals. In order to give the photos & video a higher time frame production value, old cars work great - so we'll need to rent one (or two!)

4. Makeup
In order to make the actors look pretty (or not so pretty).

5. Location Fees
I'll be trying to get these waived, but in case I cant...

6. Website Construction
If I tried to build this website, it would look like garbage. So I'll have one built.

Those are the main areas where the donations will be going towards. Of course there will be other ancillary items (I love using that word! ancillary. Cool) but those are the most important. $2500 is a lot of dough and will get the job done. If we go over the fundraising goal, the extra cash will further increase the production value. Sweet!

You may think that last video made me look fairly weird. Well you would be correct! I can't help it, I didn't see anything when I took that picture! Sweet story though. It was even on CNN.
