Hello Wonderful WONDER WOMEN! KICKSTARTERS,

Things continue to be at full speed for WONDER WOMEN! Next weekend the film will be screening at both the Mill Valley Film Festival and New Orleans Film Festival. We’re also a few days out from announcing a future November screening in New York City.

Additionally jurors at the Dallas Videofest honored WONDER WOMEN! on Sept. 30 with the Documentary Feature award. This year the festival celebrated its 25th anniversary. WONDER WOMEN! also continues to receive great attention from the press.

In September The Source Weekly did a Q&A feature with Kristy about the film and San Francisco Magazine named it one of the best five documentaries at the Mill Valley Film Festival.

Dallas Morning News blogger Jaron Hataway said, "My hopes, and I’m sure the creators of this documentary feel a like sentiment, is that this film and others like it can put a more female empowering message out into the culture."

The team is also preparing for the Producers Institute for New Media Technologies at the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) in San Francisco. We're ecstatic to be moving forward with a gaming component to complement the film and will have a lot more to report after October.

And if you haven't received your DVD package, keep watching the mail. We're shipping them off as quickly as possible.

Kristy & Kelcey

24 Hours to Go!

Update #16 · Mar 2, 2012 · comment

This is it! The final push! Because of our nearly 400 supporters (800 if you count last Kickstarter), we have shipped the film, printed the posters, and are now putting the final touches together to begin our festival and outreach campaign. SO THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  We go public next week!

You have all donated already, so I won't ask you for any more. BUT if you could, one last time, promote the campaign on your Facebook account, Twitter feed, via email or just by paper airplane, we would appreciate it. We would love to break $20,000. Whomever takes us to that goal, gets a special prize. And every amount receives some cool award: http://kck.st/wZ3SBJ

Thank you again. We'll be writing you from Austin, as well.

Friends & Supporters,
We've sent off the print of our film to South by Southwest as of today and we owe you another thank you for helping us get this far.  We can hardly believe it.

Only 2 DAYS remain in the Kickstarter campaign and we'd love to meet our new 20K goal to support promotional efforts for the film and future screenings.  If you haven't had a chance to visit our page yet, do it today before it's too late to pick up our awesome pledge gifts and to pre-order the DVD.  This is your very last chance to support the film's premiere and pick up some goodies along the way.  Tell your friends and pay us a visit today!  In addition, we are offering a prize package of our hand-screened t-shirt, signed limited edition poster, AND the DVD to the individual whose pledge breaks the 20K goal.

We have some amazing interviews already lined up for the festival and look forward to reporting to all of you from Austin!
All the best,
Kristy & Kelcey

Update #14 · Feb 24, 2012 · comment

Thanks to YOU and to the amazing talents of designer Yen Tan, WONDER WOMEN! THE UNTOLD STORY OF AMERICAN SUPERHEROINES has its poster!

In addition to his work for WONDER WOMEN! Yen has created artwork for several films, the branding for small businesses and organizations, and also video title treatments for major clients like Dell and The Annenberg Space for Photography. You can view more of Yen’s work on his site Otto is the One.

REMEMBER, we only have ONE MORE WEEK to go on our fundraiser. You can still get our goodies, including a signed copy of this awesome poster! Spread the word...and THANK YOU!

Here is a great interview with Kristy that came out today on CNN Geek Out.

Friends!
Hip hip HOORAY!  We are completely floored that we were able to reach 100% of our new Kickstarter campaign goal in under three weeks and we owe it ALL to our supporters.  Thank you so very much for all your ideas, time, energy, donations, and for spreading the word.  This week we are sound mixing the film and locking the picture and we simply would not be here without your support.  We are SO indebted.

If you haven't had a chance yet to view our most recent trailer and visit our new Kickstarter page, it's not too late to check it out and get involved.  Any additional money we raise during the remaining days of the campaign will be directly applied to promoting the film during the festival circuit, publicity materials, building out our website with outtakes and insightful scenes that didn't quite make the final cut, and supporting our community screenings and eventual broadcast.  We want to bring this documentary to countless cities and start a dialogue about the involvement of women in comics and action-based media.  We have a number of rad comic-themed rewards and they are only available during the Kickstarter campaign!

There is now a lot of buzz about the film on the web with mentions on Ain't it Cool News, Examiner.com, Filmology, and many other blogs.  We're so excited that people are already talking about the film.

We'll be unveiling our poster design in the next few days and we'll keep you updated on all the news as we get closer and closer to our world premiere! Thank you, thank you, thank you.  We are so happy that you're a part of our team!
