FAQ - You will not be charged and we will not receive any of the money pledged if we do not reach our minimum goal of $30,000!
HOW IT STARTED
Six months ago we noticed there was a ton of great information written by knowledgable CrossFit gym owners, trainers, doctors and nutritionist but it was only reaching a small group of people. So we decided to create the first digital magazine focused on the CrossFit community. The digital magazine has been produced as a free online subscription paid for by our advertisements. When the first issue was downloaded over 15,000 times in the first month we realized we might be on to something.
Every month our readership has grown with the most recent issue reaching over 30,000 people. Since the beginning we have received feedback from our readers asking for a print version of the magazine.
WOD Talk has been so lucky to assemble an incredible team of contributors including Mark Sisson from MarksDailyApple and The Primal Blue Print, Erik Arevalo of Virtus Strength & Conditioning, Sarah Wilson from Fashletics, Geo Rockwell from Fitrillia, trainer extraordinaire Heidi Jones, sports psychologist and trainer Dawn Fletcher of FletcherFitness, coach Mike Cahill, Katie Chasey from RXBOUND, Dai Manuel from Fitness Town and Moose is Loose, affiliate marketing specialist Clay Weldon from 321Go Project, coach Juan Villegas and Sarah Fragoso from Everyday Paleo to just name some!
WHY SHOULD I HELP?
WOD Talk will continue to offer our digital edition of the magazine at a yearly cost of $10, but creating a print magazine is expensive and requires a strong subscriber base to be successful. So we have decide to start a Kickstarter project so that we can receive financial help in launching the print edition of WOD Talk Magazine.
The print edition will be a subscriber paid for, bi-monthly magazine for the first year with the digital edition remaining free. Our goal for the second year is to move to a monthly magazine.
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE MONEY?
Our minimum goal is $30,000 but we would ultimately like to raise $40,000 to allow us to transition to a monthly publication much sooner. The money raised will allow us to:
- Secure 3 months printing and distribution
- Have a booth at the CrossFit Games and CrossFit Regionals
- Provide distribution of the magazine to CrossFit boxes and retail locations such as grocery stores
SHOULD I KEEP FUNDING AFTER YOU MEET YOUR GOAL?
Yes! Any money above our minimum goal will go towards other much needed areas of expansion. This includes researching and writing grants, distributing issues to newsstands and around the world, building out our website, expanding our outreach, increasing our editorial staff, and paying the contributors and photographers we rely on for the great content they provide.
