      Its been such a long time since i've heard any news from you guys and the Beta is now 6.5 months overdue. I've pretty much lost almost all interest in the project. Yogscast hasn't posted a new yogpod since Halloween as well. Can you at least include Oculus Rift support out of the box for this game since its taking so long to get stuff together? While you're at it, implement a control scheme for the Hydra as well would be great.

      Hi guys, sorry there hasn't been an update in a little while. We're working on multi-player and when that's finished we're going to release it to the rest of the backers. It's certainly not finished but it's coming along and a lot of fun to play together in the sandbox.

      We're also bringing on additional programming help so hopefully progress can continue to speed up from here on.

      If you're referring to the physical rewards, the Yogscast are handling those themselves and have setup a separate email address for questions about them: yogventures@yogscast.com. They haven't given us a ETA yet, but they are working on them and should have more information in the near future. Thanks!

      I still can't place a reason for why I dislike playing the Alpha builds... I've just went from complete excitement to ignoring the updates that have been released...
      Maybe I expected way too much of this or it's that The Yogscast have never mentioned the game since it was successful... Like it's some sort of taboo that they don't want to talk about...

      I just don't know what to think anymore, if any of that makes sense.

      Anyone else feeling the same way? It'd put me at ease to know someone else is still confused about all this...

      The funny thing is, that the rest of the systems are actually much easier and less time consuming to implement due largely to the fact that we made the decision early on to use the Unity engine. As a result much of the remaining systems are already well along, it's just that without a working procedural sandbox the rest wouldn't work. That's the main reason I'm so optimistic for the future of Yogventures, now that our custom hybrid procedural voxel terrain generation engine is nearing optimal performance. Things like multiplayer and map making, crafting, dialog branching, AI etc all of these other systems we've either already implemented before or there are a lot of examples and existing API's to aid in development.

      The one thing I will say is that there will never be a time when we simply throw in the towel. We're in this until Yogventures delivers on everything we want it to. Thanks!

      Wow, thanks for the extensive answer. Yes, the delays have been explained well. The main problem I think is that the difficulty of the technical side will increase the more the feature set is completed and the more systems interact with each other. If landscape generation currently is such a problem, and I know marching cubes are hard to implement, I dare not imagine the time it might take to get all systems implemented, especially physics.

      But I can hardly stay mad after such a sincere answer. It's reassuring that additional staff will be on bord

      It's always hard to hear a backer is disappointed in our progress, but I appreciate and understand your sentiment mycale.

      I hope and feel, that the delays in production have been pretty well explained already, so I won't get back into those here. I can only apologize for the mistakes I've made and work as hard as possible to fix the problems and get the game working as soon as we can.

      I do feel like we've made a lot of progress but I agree there is a lot more left to do. The one thing I want to say is that there isn't a day since the kickstarter ended that we haven't worked hard to try and live up to and be worthy of the support all of you backers have given us.

      The problems we've faced have been mostly technical in nature and for that I take responsibility. Up till now I have been the only programmer and it's true that given the schedule we tried to set I just wasn't able to fix all the problems fast enough to get features implemented and stick to that timeline.

      However, we've definitely turned a corner recently on the terrain problems and are about to bring in extra help on the coding front as well.

      I know this may all seem too little too late, but I hope that everyone will bear with us a little longer because I really believe in Yogventures and can't wait to see what adventures you all create and share in the future.

      I can't say sorry enough, both for the initial overly ambitious promised delivery dates, and for the buggy terrain problems that have plagued us so far. All I can do is continue working as hard as possible and hopefully when we are finished everyone will agree that the work was worth the wait.

      I begin to seriously doubt the ability of Winterkewl to deliver on what was promised in the Kickstarter. Updates have been few and far in between and Progress seems tremendously slow. Yogventures is still pretty much in Pre-Alpha after about one 1 of development with virtually no functionality. Comparing the kind of Progress Blockscape, Masterspace or even Starforge makes to Yogventures.... Well you can probably read that I'm more than disappointed of what has been shown so far.

      I have a mac. I downloaded the game when v.0.1 came out. I was so excited. I opened my game and created a new world. It was slowly loading in the bar then yogventures crashed. Ever since then whenever I try to open the game it crashes right away. Even after the patches it keeps crashing. Please help!

      Feedback of the latest patch (From a mac p.o.v):

      I loaded up a world, and this time, I wasn't merged in the ground. The framerate had improved from 0-1 to about 5-8, which is awesome for an alpha patch. I then loaded the game up on my brother's computer, and achieved playable speed. I ran around for a while, worrying about the lack of content in the game.

      Surely, there must be more soon, but in how near of a future?

      sadtaco - if you join the forum you'll see more of what's going on. winterkewl tells us more there than he will on the kickstarter, because that's what the forum is for. you do realise that winterkewl can't keep us updated every single say right? a month can actually pass without anything interesting to report. the lastest we've been told is that he's working on the memory leak bug.

Second, according to the records you selected the $30 reward tier which is good for 2 copies of the game when we reach the "Closed Beta" milestone. Right now we're in "Alpha" and working hard to get to that "Closed Beta" mark. The main feature we're working on for that is one more round of terrain optimization to try and fix the memory usage problem people in the Alpha have reported having as well as the multi-player portion of the game. Once the multi-player is in and tested we'll release "Closed Beta". That's when you'll receive the game links. Thanks!

      Hi everyone,

      Here are some tips to help try and get the game running on your computer.

      1. If you're running Windows 8 some people have reported that the 64 bit version of the game didn't work for them, we suggest trying the 32 bit for now and will have to do more windows 8 testing. To be honest we haven't got a test machine with windows 8 at the moment but we will try to get one set up asap.

      2. Make sure you are running the right version of the game for your computer. A number of players have found that they actually have windows 32 bit when they thought they had 64 bit. If the 64 bit isn't working try the 32 bit instead.

      3. if the game doesn't run initially, try lowering the graphics settings. This can only be done in the Yogventures configuration screen that pops up as soon as you launch the game. Set the "Graphics quality" down to "Fastest" and then hit the play button. If the game still doesn't launch then please submit a bug report with as much information about your computer as possible.

      4. Make sure you enter something in the name and seed boxes when you create a new game. Alphabetical and numerical numbers and letters are the best, punctuation and spaces are allowed as well.

      We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working on solutions to try and make Yogventures! require less CPU and RAM but as we are only in Alpha these things do happen and all we can do is work as fast as we can to address the issue.

      I have a problem! I just downloaded ALPHA. I fixed my settings got everything ready.....and then it started up. Black screen and said it wasn't responding. So I tried again, same thing. I then restarted my PC and tried again....it did it again! I've been wanting to play this game ever since I pledged $25. Please help!

      can everybody please remember that this is an ALPHA build and that you WILL experience issues. my first go around with pre-alpha i was constantly falling through the world.
      if you experience a bug PLEASE submit a bug form. they get checked a lot more frequently than the comments, emails or the forum.

      So I have a more than capable machine, but moment I launch the game, it just stays on a black screen and doesn't do anything, gives a no response and just hangs. Any idea what is going on? There's no error code it just simply hangs and won't do anything.

      We're certainly going to try and support a minimum spec as possible, it's just right now the game is a very CPU/RAM intensive application. We'll continue to refine and optimize as new versions become available though. I'm really sorry the experience wasn't good for you and will do our best to lessen the burden on the computers.

      I'm not at all unhappy, not at all.

      First thing I noticed: Upon launching the game and regenerating a new level, I started falling through the ground and couldn't move. After a restart I noticed that the game was unplayable due to my specs.

      Could you possibly make a 800x600 resolution option? I'm on a mac by the way.
