If anyone needs to get in touch with Windowfarms directly with questions or to update us with your shipping address, please contact me (Destiny) directly at destiny@windowfarms.org. This is the most efficient way to communicate with us and I am able to respond faster to a more consolidated stream of incoming email traffic in one place. Please know that it still can take me up to a week sometimes to reply to individual messages depending my work load from week to week, but I PROMISE that I will respond to you! Thanks again to everyone for your generous support of the Windowfarms project, your patience, and your kind words of encouragement!

      Sam on April 20

So since this is taking so long I need to change where to have this shipped, as we didn't expect this to arrive so late, our lease will be up by then. Would you guys provide some way to confirm shipping addresses before you send them out?

Also what happened to the my.windowfarms.com idea and the new website?

    4. Missing_thumb
      William Barnes on April 20

Britta, okay I understand that this is hard and your team is a small one but we (backers) haven't received an update since March 21, 2012. Why not post this as an update and I think that would go a long way toward letting people know what they need to know! I think its reasonable for you to want us to be easy on the girls but mightn't you and the girls be easier on the backers too?

    5. Windowfarms_webcrop.thumb
The Windowfarms Project on April 20

      Guys, it is Britta.
      1) Thank you thank you thank you again. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for getting it despite us being out of communication.
      2) We should be making a lot more updates. We owe it to you guys. This is largely my bad as I have been the main bottle neck. I ask that you please please be easy on the girls. We are getting a LOT of email and we are a tiny growing team facing the unique hurdles of getting US sustainable manufacturing besides. If I could respond to all of your emails myself but I'm focusing on getting you your windowfarms as fast as possible and capturing footage that you will see soon.
      3) The ship date IS going to be in August. It took a long time to resolve this issue with the planter molds but we are back on track and have some new firm dates under contract. When we have a chance to get caught up with some video editing we will let you in on more of the process from behind the scenes.
4)The girls are getting emails and communications coming from several different channels- comments here, facebook, our community site, emails directly to our website. It seems that a lot of you are not seeing the emails coming to you through Kickstarter. When we make updates, all of you should be getting emails as backers. If you are not, please do search your spam filters for something from Kickstarter mentioning windowfarms. If you still are not seeing the emails, please send us an email at info@windowfarms.org. That will help us understand what the issues are. We're about to do another update and then send you guys some emails directly from us, so please be on the look out from emails from both us and Kickstarter.
      5) I want to just give a shout out of thanks to the law firm Morrisson Foerester who has taken us on as a probono social enterprise case and is making it so much faster to make headway on all this legal work for the contracts! Thank you Mofo!!
Hugs!! Ok heads back down for a few days.

You guys need to give more updates. Remember who gave you the funding for this project... Don't alienate them with silence.

That said I knew what I was getting into when I backed this project so I don't mind the wait. But please keep us updated. We back projects so we can feel like we are a part of something. If you take away the communication you take away our motivation for backing in the first place.

I replied to Shivani regarding changing my order from single column to two columns back in Dec. I had couple of email exchange with Shivani, then I don't hear from her or anyone from Windowfarms. Email on updates stopped too. I'd appreciate it if you can acknowledge or provide status of shipment. Thanks.

I am a backer of the windowfarms however when I was registering/paying to back the company I made a mistake and did not check off the rewards part. since then I have made a request, hoping to still get a windowfarm ...as I paid for one. But no one will respond back to me. I am really wanting a windowfarm as it was a gift for my husband. I am hoping if I write something on here, maybe someone from the company will get back to me!! Any suggestions?

Hello! We received the card yesterday! :) However, the links (both URL and QR code) go to a company called Dojo4 and not to windowfarms, even though the link includes "windowfarms.org" in the name. I guess the main difference is the "my." Could you please let me know what the correct link should be? Thanks! We're looking forward to start windowfarming this spring!

Hello! I'm excited to have participated in the initial kickstart! I purchased the two column as a gift and immediately completed the survey with appropriate addresses etc. As of yesterday, the recipient has yet to receive the written card/welcome that was promoted for the holidays. Anyway to see if this was mailed out as originally advertised?

Would be helpful to state unit'' dimensions on your website. Also, you need to show on the splash page those glorious greenery pictures that hooked me on your project.

Can the components be re-configured by the buyer to fit different sized windows? Most of my sunny windows are 2 - 3 bottles tall, approx 6 bottles wide. Can we buy components such as pumps and timers separately from you? Thank you.

SG: We would actually have to charge you slightly differently for that--two separate columns require two pumps and two timers, so the price is a little higher, and we would need to add additional shipping. Can you email us here or at info@windowfarms.org and we'll help you figure it out?

Peter- Kickstarter will not let us handle the shipment costs through their interface anymore after the project close. We are going to have to set something up on our website to handle those shipping payments. I should have it finished by Sunday. I share your frustration and I am sorry.

Hullo all! I pledged November 22 after a friend told me about this project and have been checking in everyday to see what was happening. I am very very very pleased to see that the production will stay in North America, that so many people supported the project and that I will get to see my windowfarms in the new year! As a potentially addictive side effect of my investment in windowfarms, I also have become as addicted to kickstarter.com as I am to kiva.org (a very serious addiction indeed!!!), and I absolutely cannot wait to be able to have local projects from Canada listed on kickstarter too!

I pledged 118 dollars for the one column window farm, and i need it to be shipped to canada.
You posted on this website that it's 19 dollars to ship to canada, so 99 + 19 = 118.

however, in the email you sent us you said 119 dollars for shipping to canada.
please let me know if I need to change my pledge to 119 because the website is wrong,
or if it's ok to stay with 118 and that you made an error in the email.

Not only is the COOLEST and economical idea I have seen in a long time....there is a great reason behind it. I just wish I had more money to back with so that I could have gotten a Windowfarm. I live in Maine and weather kills about 6 months of our growing season and I am just starting my new lifestyle of living healthier.....(40 lbs gone in 6 months).

JD Stillwater- Unfortunately not. We are a hybrid organization. We have a non-profit portion of our organization that supports the DIY work that I talk about in my TED talk but this transaction is with the for profit side that sponsors that work. Also, Kickstarter does not allow tax deductible donations.

We are so psyched to be supporting/participating in this exciting project! Our updated pledge is for three two-column Windowfarms...all Christmas gifts to dear friends. But we'd originally also wanted the $169 model for our own light-deprived apartment, but I couldn't see how to order more than one type of set up in the one pledge. Do we need to log on via a second email address to do so? (We can do this, using my husband's email, but I wanted to try and do it all in one.)
      Eagerly awaiting your response!
