Welcome to the world of the SMOT. SMOT stands for simple magnetic overunity toy. Except that it is not simple, it is not overunity and it is not a toy. It is a device that seems to overcome gravity in such that a steel ball rolls UP a rail of u-channel by the forces acting upon it via a magnetic field. - Very Cool Stuff!

The ball exits the u-channel and drops into a scoop which allows the ball to enter the back plate at a  higher elevation. The ball then moves down a second u-channel and ends up in front of it's entrance point.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

There are 2 sets of magnets on each side of the u-channel. With a total of 8 ceramic magnets in each set. The magnets are positioned so that they are in a V pattern. This creates an ever increasing magnetic field and "pulls" the ball up hill.

The tolerances are very tight as to the placement of the magnets for the ball to exit the u-channel perfectly. This SMOT is the most advanced design available as we have developed a number of new ways to enhance it's performance.

About 6 months ago I took in a SMOT to the physics lab at OMSI to see how well it would be received. They currently have it on their front counter and the kids love it!

WHAT WILL THE MONEY BE USED FOR?

To enable us to purchase the materials at bulk pricing. My goal is to use the funding from this Kickstarter project to buy as much material as I can so that we can assemble as many SMOTs as possible. Needless to say the initial SMOTs will be made available to the wonderful backers who supported this project.
