What is Fishbones?

Fishbones is an action-arcade style game with integrated puzzle elements and increasingly challenging game play. The game is about an accident at a genetic engineering lab that caused mutant fish to escape into the ocean which threaten to contaminate and kill all marine life globally. You (tons of responsibility here, we love to eat sushi) must wipe them out first.

To get a feel for the concept, play the alpha version here, but remember: we need your help to recreate the game from the ground up! That means new/updated: graphics, sound/music, gameplay, and versions for iOS, Android, and PC.

Keep in mind this is only a older alpha version. Tha game will be completely overhauled from the ground up with tons of new features added.That's why we need your help to make it as awesome as possible!  Play it here.

What's the plan?

We developed the alpha to get a feel for the core gameplay. While it is addictive on the PC, it didn't scale to mobile well. We will redesign the game to be touch-friendly, as well as making it suitable for all screen sizes. The powerups will be completely overhauled with particle systems, explosions, laser beams... you know, the good stuff. Also, we're fans of addictive mini games and puzzles, so we're going to toss those in there so that the player can earn more powerups, unlock new levels, and ultimately enjoy the game more. (Did we mention there will be new gameplay elements, like... the Kraken!?)

Why should I help you.

You will be helping keep indie game development alive and kickin! Your suggestions for the game will definitely be considered (and if they're awesome may even be put into the game)! Most of all, you will be the first to play what we think will be our best game yet! When our games are on the top of the charts, you can say... "hey, I helped get those guys out the door." The rewards are nice too.

Who are Wes and Caleb?

Bitstudio Games' core is the father and son team of Wes and Caleb Gray. Each of us have professional game development experience, both as indie developers (wOot!), and at corporate game studios. We work with a lot of talented programmers and designers who we have joined forces with over the last decade or so. We hope that one day we can build a game studio where all your base are belong to us.
