Amazing Second Day. Production Update, New Rewards
Hello backers!
Our first day was the craziest of our lives. Shockingly, yesterday was nearly as good. If you’re keeping a tally, we closed out 48 hours with 437 backers and $40,683 raised.
Thank you for making this happen. We’ve also been receiving great questions over the last two days and have really enjoyed writing back. We love talking denim and fashion, so don’t hesitate to send us a message - team@weargustin.com
We got a lot more media coverage as well. Check out this site we made to see everything you’ve made possible: http://bit.ly/gustinupdate
As we noted yesterday, we’re taking steps now to prepare for production. Delivering on our promise is top priority. We met with our sewer yesterday and they’re as excited about this as we are! They ensured us that on-time production will not be an issue. We’ve worked with them on many production runs in the past, so we feel great about this.
Let’s Keep It Going!
We set out a goal and you all blew it away! So amazing to see the support. Thank you for making that happen. It's clear to us that that our fans want more. Extending our core Kickstarter edition is well within our production means and we’re still only on day 3, so keep ‘em coming!
This is history making material - for Kickstarter, for fashion, and for denim. You have kicked off a new chapter in the design, pricing and delivery of premium menswear.
A lot of you have asked what our stretch goal is. We don’t have one today. We love the appreciation for the concept and the quality that’s driving everything so far. Let’s keep sharing that and see where it takes us.
A Few Things to Spice It Up
Adding size 38 - based on the significant feedback we received, we added size 38 in for Kickstarter.
New Limited Availability Fabric - We’ve encountered some pretty cool denim over the last six years. Now we’re going into the archives to pull out a few limited production selvage fabrics that are super unique. We will post limited availability later today so definitely check back.
Thanks,
The GUSTIN Team

This unique denim comes from one of the most highly regarded mills in Japan and is no longer being run in production. Natural indigo plant dye is rarely used today and is quite pricey. Great question.
In Kickstarter you can change your reward level - so you'll want to do that when the new fabric drops.
We'll let you add on your previous reward level to the limited edition. If you want to add on THE EARLY BIRD, add $50 to your pledge. If you want to add on THE REGULAR, add $81, etc.,
Creator Kosongz on January 10
I think what Yuri means is that as early birds, can we add on to get the limited editions as well? Like, can we add $99 to our pledge and get both the early bird and the natural indigo?
Creator Michael on January 9
Fantastic! Can't wait to fight for it :D

We'll release another Japanese denim at noon PST tomorrow!
Creator Michael on January 9
Wow, those went real fast.

Yuri - we just put up the first limited edition denim. Follow us on twitter or facebook to be updated as soon as it drops!
Creator Yuri Savguira on January 9
If new rewards were to be added, please make sure that they can be added to existing tiers. I have an early bird one, and I am potentially interested in getting some of the limited edition ones, but I don't want to loose my spot in the early bird tier. Overall, great job guys.

Great question. The limiting factor is really going to be packing and shipping. We're figuring out how to handle that, but are considering have a big party in SF for all of our backers who want to join in and help us get it done.
We have a number of pairs in mind that we can get out in April. If we get close to that number, we'll react accordingly.
Creator Matt Fischer on January 9
based on your current rate of fundraising, are you going to be able to ramp up your production model to meet your stated deadline of April? I think that we are all aware of how long some of these projects get delayed when the projects get several times what they were hoping to raise...and how much that sucks as a contributor. Any thoughts?
Creator Michael on January 9
Big congrats. If we reach a high enough level or demand would size 35 see any love?
Creator GUSTIN on January 9
Thanks so much Gus!
Creator Gus Walbolt on January 9
Congratulations! You guys deserve your success for using Kickstarter to not just ask for money, but to give supporters something of significant value in return. Way to go.
