SO. If you look to the right you'll see we're past our goal and that is soooo good.
However, if you've been following us these last 7 days you'll know we want to get to at least 8K or more.
And we have every reason to believe it's possible.

For those of you new to the backing updates I'll throw you a bone:

Making a video or any kind of film as you know takes a lot to produce. A LOT.
Things are cheaper to make these days with new fangled cameras and such but that doesn't mean the stuff is good just because it's easier to make.

Not to say something HAS to cost a lot of money for it to be good. BUT. For the video we wish to make, we have to get particular equipment and that equipment costs a lot to rent and use properly. There are things we just can't do for free. We're going to be cutting corners wherever we can while ensuring the quality of this piece doesn't suffer. It's something we pride ourselves on.

Making stuff that doesn't suck.

We'd really like to cover some things like gas and good food for our crew members that are often willing to work for free for projects they believe in. The idea being that they come for free but they don't have to go out of pocket to help and are treated well.

The more funds raised, the less we have to beg, borrow and steal from all our friends and industry resources which, more than anything, makes the whole process that much better for everyone.

So if you can keep helping us by telling everyone you know and getting them to find out what we're doing, that'd be fantastic.

Besides, they get stuff back! Free stuff! Music and stuff!

However, since we've still got 4 days left, we DON'T want to be greedy but we DO want to keep pushing because as we mentioned before, our goal was the barest of bare minimums.

Please keep telling everyone you know! We can still collect for another 4 days! Suddenly I have dreams of maybe paying some of the crew for their time or at least the gas they'll use to drive to the shoot that day. Or, actually being able to choose the colouring for the walls of the set instead of having to do mismatched walls because we're buying the cheapest paint.

Or chairs! Yes, chairs for people to sit on during our long day of shooting!

Props? Oh yah. Props. Those too.
All of these things will be possible the further we go.
As funny as all of that sounds, it's kinda reality. There are many things that go into a production, all of which cost something. The less we have to beg for deals (though we're still going to) the more we'll be able to make something that will stand a chance on the world's stage. We're not looking to gain acceptance on places like MTV or MuchMusic but I can't say we'd scoff at it.

It's like this: Every craftsperson needs tools to do their job. A carpenter needs a hammer. A plumber needs a wrench. An electrician needs wire.

We also need the right tools to do the job. The more money we get, the more able we'll be to make this thing the RIGHT way while leaning on the joy and love of making something with your help.

One last thing:

We posted our 2nd video update 5 days ago and we were at just under 4K and things seemed bleak.
Within 5 days we've had this HUGE outpour of generosity and now we're actually certain we're going to be making this video!!

Which is something that is still a little hard to fathom. Honestly.
When you set out to do something like this where you sit down and figure out how to do a project on the absolute bare minimum and it still comes up as enough money to pay your rent for 6 months you think to yourself 'this is a REAL stretch to just ask people to give us money, even if they get stuff in return'.

Once again we're a bit. . speechless.

Someone out there just handed us another large sum of money that we actually thought was a glitch at first on the part of Kickstarter but they checked for us and it wasn't. So.

We don't want to single people out too often because we really appreciate EVERY cent anyone will give us BUT… he just put us significantly closer to our goal, making us feel like suddenly it's actually possible! Keep spreading the word!
