TheTampa Bay WaVE is a grassroots nonprofit with a mission to foster a bigger, better, stronger tech community by helping web and mobile tech entrepreneurs build, launch and scale their ventures to success. Our motto is "To Launch & Beyond..."
Our membership has grown considerably in the last few years to over 40 members representing over 70 ventures, and now includes some of Tampa Bay’s most innovative tech companies (see: Wufoo, Crowdsavings, Enthusem, CourseLogic, vWorker, Dropost.it, etc.)! Although our outreach programs have become hugely successful, our work with the local tech community has unveiled a growing problem that threatens to compromise the foundational underpinnings our start-up society...
High-tech homelessness.
There are dozens of vagabond ventures in the Tampa Bay area including many of our own members. There are probably dozens more in your city, too! Our goal is to secure and furnish a shared space that can house these forlorn enterprises and give them the opportunity to grow, develop and ideate!
But that’s not all.
Our space will also be open to other members of the tech community – for example, programmers and designers who can benefit from the supportive, symbiotic and enterprising atmosphere that our co-working space will create. We plan to offer our space to local tech meetup groups and even ambitious college students looking to work side-by-side some of the areas best and brightest.
Unfortunately, this initiative falls out of the scope of services that our organization can provide. So we need YOUR help to make it happen.
We hope that our facility can ultimately serve as a model that can be used in cities across the country to foster sustainable entrepreneurship, innovation and high-wage job creation - thus becoming a catalyst for economic growth that our community and country desperately needs.
*NOTE: Funds raised via KickStarter will NOT be used to finance the operations of our nonprofit. They will be used by specific WaVE members to secure and furnish a dedicated co-working space that ALL members of the tech community can utilize.
