About this project
Hey there friend!
We’re a bunch of poor kids in a band called Wartime Blues, and we want to ask you for some support. We plan on recording our second LP in Montana (our home state) in the dead of winter with a really great, uber talented engineer out of Chicago. We’re going to drive him out here to Missoula February 1st through the 7th, get him and us into a big cabin in the mountains, and lay down thirteen songs.
2010 has treated our band quite well. We did a session for the guys and girls at Daytrotter, played some music in Denver for their Underground Music Showcase, bombed around in a van for two, two-week tours across the West and Midwest, and even got our music played on NPR’s Weekend Edition. We’re doing pretty good for a band that doesn’t have a label, distributer or booking agent (yet).
Anyways, we’d be entirely grateful if you were able to give us some cash to lift this endeavor off the ground. Because of your help, this is an album we’re all going to create.

Connected as Nate Hegyi (232 friends)
Wartime Blues, described fittingly as “new roots hybrid” by The Tripwire, is an eight-piece folk rock outfit out of the western mountain town of Missoula, Montana. Led by guitarist/vocalist Nate Hegyi, the band includes Ben Prez (mandolin/backup vocals), Sam Luikens (banjo/backup vocals), Lisena Brown (keys), Bethany Joyce (cello/violin), Jesse Netzloff (electric guitar), Tyler Knapp (bass) and Martin McCain (percussion). Falling comfortably between Wolf Parade and the Hold Steady, Wartime Blues has garnered acclaim throughout the Rocky Mountain West since 2007 and has shared the stage with the likes of Bill Callahan among others.
Wartime Blues has been featured on Daytrotter and NPR's Weekend Edition
