About this project

Hey everyone, Matthew Warlick here, illustrator, interactive designer and comic artist living on the untended outskirts of Dallas.

I was born and raised in the DFW Metroplex, or what we locals like to call North Texas, and since I was old enough to remember I’ve been drawing, writing and in love with the comic book as both art form and storytelling medium.

I grew up on superheroes, but quickly learned that while those comics entertained, I wanted to tell deeper, more compelling and broad-ranging stories about life, consciousness, the nature of reality and humanity’s place in the cosmos.

And that’s where you and The Old Ones come into play.

The plan is to produce three 36-page arcs, encompassing man's first contact, first conflict and eventual integration with an alien species. The subject matter stems from my love of comics & sci-fi, as well as my own personal observations and experiences with the UFO phenomenon. The money raised will go towards production, payment for a colourist and letterer, printing fees, and distribution costs.

Last year I self-published my first book Senryu, copies of which can be foundhere.
