Waking life at Burning Man is captured by thousands of people through film, video and other media. But little attention is paid to those quiet moments of solitary rest.

We believe that these moments are just as important as our waking ones - they give us a way to process our experience subconsciously, with none of the limitations of time, space and reality. 

We aim to create a place for burners to capture and store their dreams with the same medium that is used to capture so much of their waking life - photography.

Playa Dreamcatchers is a study in Polaroid and chalk that will give burners the ability to render their dreams during their time on the playa. Burners will illustrate their dreams on our chalkboard, and have these drawings captured on Polaroid film - after which we will curate and share the gallery online.  

We believe that by offering an art project for the playa this year, we not only add to our own personal experience but also that of others. Your help is greatly appreciated in funding our endeavor.

Funds will be allotted to the following materials:

• Polaroid Film ($24 for 8 shots x 500) via Impossible Project Film
• Polaroid 600 cameras (5)
• chalk
• chalkboard paint
• construction materials for chalkboards
• stamps for mailing
• website hosting
• (and a sledgehammer...)
